You can see in this report that over half of
... the load time is just waiting for Gate.com's server to respond before any files are even loaded.
My own websites hosted on Gate.com fared far, far worse.
There's also a strange disconnect between technical service, customer service, and billing. You have to call them directly to get anything done as I did not receive timely email responses on urgent issues.
Their billing practices are also hugely problematic, as you can see if you Google "Gate.com complaints". I sincerely wish I never gave this company my credit card information.
I don't know why anyone running a Wordpress site would go with Gate instead of a recommended host like Bluehost, Dreamhost, or Siteground:
