During May, UltaHost:
- All servers were operational.
Honestly, I am bored of reviewing only popular web hosting providers from the niche. So, today, I will go in a different direction. I am here to introduce UltaHost, a relatively new company from Istanbul.
Even though UltaHost is not an incredibly famous solution, it caters to various users’ needs. It offers Shared Hosting, VPS, VDS, Dedicated Servers, Windows, and WordPress Hosting.
Better yet, there’s more. UltaHost offers Domain Names, SSL Certificates, and the WHOIS Checker. As part of its Tools and Services, you can also find Reseller, Ecommerce, Social Network, Email, and CRM Hosting, along with Other Products.
Most of all, the provider aims to provide effective web hosting-related services at affordable prices. Better yet, UltaHost continually works on improving its IT solutions to serve its existing and potential customers better.
It already employs modern system software on its servers, reducing its clients’ costs for deploying and managing projects. In turn, the company serves customers from all over the world, including Russia, the US, England, Canada, Australia, and so on.
But enough about theory and claims. Let’s get to work. I’ll put UltaHost to testing and report to you the findings openly and genuinely, as I always do.
Getting Started with UltaHost
As soon as you visit UltaHost’s website, you’ll immediately notice how simple it is. It’s somewhat of a WordPress theme with a design that’s especially easy on the eyes.
In the top menu, you can find Domain, Hosting, Tools & Services, all of which I mentioned before. Also, here, you can find the Affiliate program, get support, access the Client Area, or change the language.
I like the rotating menu on the home page, listing popular app integrations that you will get with an UltaHost plan. But more on that later.
If you scroll down, you will get to the web hosting plans. UltaHost transparently lists all that you can get from each plan to facilitate your decision.
I will follow the same pattern as always and get a shared hosting plan. It’s the cheapest alternative. Better yet, it allows me to analyze what the provider has to offer at a minimum. And it only gets better from there and on.
UltaHost offers four different shared hosting plans, Shared Starter, Basic, Business, and Pro. You can get them on a monthly or on an annual basis. The provider offers 40% off on the yearly plans. So, if you are certain you are in for the longer term, you might as well use this discount.
Since I am here for the testing, I will go for a monthly plan. At the time of my purchase, the monthly plans were at a discount as well. So, I will get an excellent offer as well.
All four shared hosting plans come with unlimited bandwidth, free daily backups, free domain transfer, free SSL certificate(s), and free 30-days money-back. Also, UltaHost provides an excellent standard of quality. You can get NVMe SSDs even in the cheapest plan.
The difference lies in the number of domains, monthly visits, and GB of storage supported in each plan. For instance, the Shared Starter allows for one domain, 10,000 visits, and 15GB NVMe SSD. See, that’s enough for me at the moment. However, you can upgrade up to unlimited domains, 49,000 monthly visits, and 45GB NVMe SSD if you need more.
I clicked on ‘Order,’ which got me to the following screen.
Here, you can register a new domain, transfer your domain from another registrar, or use an existing domain and update your nameservers.
However, when it comes to domain transfers, you can find a much broader choice.
Once you click on Continue, you will get to the following screen. Here, you can check the configurations. If everything is in place and per your business needs and preferences, you can again click on ‘Continue.’
In the next step, Domains Configuration, you can add ID Protection. It will protect your personal information and reduce the amount of spam in your inbox.
Then, once you click on ‘Continue,’ you will get to Review & Checkout. Here, you can review your order summary. Unfortunately, I came upon a negative surprise.
I then proceeded to Checkout. Here, you need to enter your Personal Information, Billing Address, Additional Required Information, Account Security, Payment Details, and Additional Notes.
You can choose from credit/debit card, PayPal, Bank Transfer, and Bitcoin in Payment Details.
That’s more or less all about the registration process. Let’s see what comes next!
It’s time to put UltaHost to the test. I clicked on ‘Continue To Client Area.’
Setting Things up at UltaHost
As soon as you log in to the Client Area, you will see the following screen.
If you click on Domains, you will see the following options. Here, you can check your available credit, active/expired domains, renew, register a new domain, transfer in a domain, or search a domain.
Apart from Domains, you can also find Services, Tickets, and Invoices.
As you can see, I currently have a single service, the Shared Starter plan.
If you click on ‘Active,’ you will see the following screen.
Here, you can log in to cPanel, log in to Webmail, change password, upgrade/downgrade, or request cancellation.
Also, UltaHost displays the usage statistics, such as disk and bandwidth usage, quick shortcuts, and billing overview at the bottom of the page.
Let’s check what the cPanel has to offer.
In General Information, you can find Current User, Primary Domain, Shared IP Address, Home Directory, Last Login IPAddress, Theme, and Server Information.
Statistics consist of Disk Usage, MySQL Disk Usage, Bandwidth, Addon Domains, Subdomains, Aliases, Email Accounts, Mailing Lists, Autoresponders, Forwarders, Email Filters, FTP Accounts, MySQL Databases, CPU Usage, Entry Processes, Physical Memory Usage, IOPS, I/O Usage, and Number Of Processes.
You can find several sections within UltaHost’s cPanel. It’s the standard version, so if you have had web hosting with the cPanel in the past, you will be familiar with the options.
The Email category covers Email Accounts, Forwarders, Email Routing, Autoresponders, Default Address, Mailing Lists, Track Delivery, Global Email Filter. Furthermore, here, you can find Email Deliverability, Address Importer, Spam Filters, Encryption, BoxTrapper, Calendars and Contacts, and Email Disk Usage.
Next, Billing and Support include News & Announcements, Network Status, Support Tickets, Billing Information. Here, you can also upgrade/downgrade, find email history, invoice history, the Knowledgebase, register or transfer a domain, or open a ticket.
File Manager, Backup, Images, Backup Wizard, Directory Privacy, Git Version Control, Disk Usage, Web Disk, and FTP Accounts are all part of Files.
The Databases section consists of phpMyAdmin, MySQL Databases, MySQL Database Wizard, Remote MySQL.
Domains cover Site Publisher, Zone Editor, Dynamic DNS, Domains, Addon and Subdomains, Aliases, and Redirects.
Visitors, Webalizer, Webalizer FTP, Errors, Bandwidth, Metrics Error, Raw Access, Resource Usage, Awstats, and Analog Stats are all part of Metrics.

In Software, you can find WP Manager by Softaculous, MultiPHP INI Editor, PHP PEAR Packages, Softaculous App Installer, Perl Modules, PHP Version, Site Software, Website Optimization, and MultiPHP Manager.
Cron Jobs, Track DNS, Indexes, Error Pages, Apache Handlers, and MIME Types are part of Advanced.

Finally, the Softaculous Apps Installer consists of two subsections, Files and Categories.
In Files, you can find WordPress, Joomla, AbanteCart, phpBB, SMF, WHMCS, Open Real Estate, MyBB, pH7CMS, Dolphin, Laravel, OpenCart, Concrete CMS, and ClupBucket.
Categories is the broadest part, with Blogs, Portals/CMS, Forums, Image Galleries, Wikis, Social Networking, Ad Management, Calendars, Gaming, Mails, Pools, and Analytics. In this section, you can also find Project Management, E-Commerce, ERP, Guest Books, Customer Support, Frameworks, Educational, DB Tools, Music, Video, RSS, File Management, Others, and Libraries.
That’s more or less all about it. Back to the Client Area, you can check your Tickets and Invoices.
UltaHost classifies the support tickets into Open, Answered, Customer-Reply, and Closed. From here, you can also get additional support. You can find Announcements, Knowledgebase, Downloads, Network Status, or open a new ticket.
Invoices include all your paid, unpaid, canceled, and refunded services. You can find the invoice number, date, due date, total amount, and status for each invoice.
Still, that’s not all about the Client Area. Next to Home (the section we have covered until now), you can also find Services.
If you click on Order New Services, you will get to UltaHost’s shop, consisting of all Shared, VPS, Dedicated Hosting, and so on.
Billing consists of My Invoices, My Quotes, Mass Payment, and Payment Methods.
Later on, I will cover the Support section, so we are only left with the Affiliate program.
You can get a custom signup link so that you get a commission for every visitor you refer to UltaHost. The provider uses cookies, lasting up to 90 days. So, even if your referred customer doesn’t get service right away, you will get your money whenever they do (during the three-month window).
If you click on ‘Activate Affiliate Account,’ you will get the link. Here, you can also track statistics, such as clicks, signups, conversions, commissions pending maturation, available commissions balance, and total amount withdrawn.
Performance, Speed, and Uptime
UltaHost has five server locations. The provider features Tier-3 and Tier-4 data centers to provide you the best possible uptime. Its dedicated servers come with a 100% Uptime Guarantee. Better yet, the provider comes with several other features regarding speed and overall performance.
First, all UltaHost servers are based on the latest SSD technology and set up in a redundant RAID 10 configuration. It means that, as a customer, you will never have to worry about the hard drives failing or losing your data. Also, you can expect a 200% speed boost compared to HDDs.
Each UltaHost server comes with dedicated resources. The provider prevents overselling or sharing system resources, such as RAM and CPU. Instead, it aims to lower latency and improve security.
Going on, the RocketBooster feature delivers three times more resources per account and three times fewer users per service. The high-performance php7 hosting environment consists of LiteSpeed LSAPI, APC & OPcache, Static and Dynamic Varnish cache.
Another worthy mention beneficial for both security and speed is Cloudflare CDN Caching. Essentially, the tool replicates your site content on over 190 servers worldwide. In turn, your website visitors will load the site from the server location that’s closest to them. And as you already know, the closer the server, the lower the latency.
Level of Support at UltaHost
UltaHost has a Knowledge Base, FAQ section, a Blog, Server Support Service, Ticketing System, Email and Phone support. Even when you are not logged in, you can access these options in Support from the top menu.
You can find several categories within the Knowledge Base, including General Guides, Troubleshooting, Domains, Hosting Products, Security, Billing Portal, Database, DNS, and PHP.
Frequently Asked Questions are divided into four subsections, General, Shared Server Hosting, VPS Server, and Dedicated Servers.
If you click on Contact Us, you can also find the option to send a ticket. Now, the company claims to offer 24/7/365 assistance. However, that’s not essentially true.
If you scroll a bit down, you can also find the locations and phone numbers in the USA and Turkey.
At last, there is the contact form. You can fill out your information and submit your inquiry right away.
Next comes the Server Support Service. UltaHost will provide technical support and fulfill your requests from 09:00 to 18:00 local time if you get this add-on. You might also get something done at night when your website gets less traffic. However, you would have to schedule with an agent first.
You can choose from three plans, Econom, Standart, and Business.
Finally, the UltaHost Blog features interesting articles covering website hosting, interesting facts, comparisons, tutorials, videos, and so on.
Also, if you are logged into the Client Area, you can check the Network Status.
Even if you are not satisfied with the products you have purchased from UltaHost, you can always get a refund. Well, at least if you issue the request within the period, as specified in their policy.
Also, if you want a refund, you should issue the request before you close your account. This one is tricky, so make sure to remember it. After account closure, you won’t be eligible for a refund for any of the services.
According to UltaHost’s Refund Policy, I am eligible for a refund on my shared hosting plan.
Let’s check if they will grant it to me. I clicked on ‘Request Cancellation’ within My Services in the Client Area. Here, you can choose from immediate cancellation or at the end of the billing period. I went for the first option and asked for a refund as well.
It’s safe to say they stand true to their promises. I got my refund without hesitation!
Security and Backups
UltaHost comes with several security features to protect its customers. It features a private peering network, Under Complete Server Management. Its in-house technicians routinely monitor to check for any server issues.
Furthermore, you can use the Web Application Firewall (WAF) to protect your websites from malicious attacks, such as SQL injection, Cross-site Scripting (XSS), Local File Include, Remote File Include, XML-RPC DDoS Attack, etc.
The provider also performs malware scans and reports, along with free daily backups. UltaHost performs daily backups from the past 7/30 days, kept off site. As their customer, you get full and unrestricted access to these backups using the web-based 1-click Restore Manager. Better yet, in case your site fails, the technical team from UltaHost can help you restore your content at no extra fee.
Still, what I like the best regarding UltaHost is the possibility to install unlimited SSLs for free for life. Better yet, you will not need any special configurations or email validations. Instead, the process is incredibly straightforward.
UltaHost also offers SpamExperts to increase the deliverability of your emails. The provider uses 100% clean IPs with an excellent reputation so that your messages don’t end up in the spam folder. The system can eliminate almost 100% of SPAM, delivering close to zero false positives.
