The Search Volume For Free Web Hosting Reaches Its All-Time High In 2022

As individuals adjust to the severe economic downturn and the cost-of-living issue, the combined search for free website builders and free web hosting has reached its highest level in over two years.

The COVID-19 pandemic, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and other factors have all contributed to a slowdown in the world economy, which, according to data from the World Bank, is now entering a protracted era of sluggish growth and high inflation. In turn, online consumers have changed their web hosting requirements.

The number of searches for free web hosting has doubled just between May and June 2022, and the number of persons seeking free website builder services has dramatically increased.

Some of the leading web hosting and website building businesses see this in the volume of visitors they receive to their websites. Additionally, there is some proof that this transition has been occurring for some time.

GoDaddy has lost over 20 million site visitors in the previous two years, while inexpensive web hosting service Namecheap has gained roughly 8 million, according to statistics provided exclusively by Techwear with TechRadar Pro. The number of visitors to Hostinger’s website also climbed from two million per month in 2019 to 8.2 million in 2022, mirroring Namecheap’s growth in popularity.

Not just GoDaddy has suffered; popular hosting companies like Bluehost and HostGator also experienced a sharp drop in website traffic from May 2019 to May 2022.

The number of searches for inexpensive web hosting has climbed by 30% over the last year, those for inexpensive website hosting have increased by 44%, and those for inexpensive website builders have increased by 20%. And it’s interesting to see that in June 2022, searches for free web hosting greatly outnumbered those for inexpensive web hosting.
