I used to be a massive fan. I stick with them when they went really bad and had a huge amount of problems. They even cost me clients, however I worked with them and we resolved the issues and I remained a loyal customer.
And how do they reward this loyalty? How do they say thank you for staying with them despite when things went wrong?
They increased my fees by 243% More than double! You may think that OK, maybe we are getting more? more performance? more reliability?
Oh that is a negative. they have reduced all the services and performance has gone down with servers not able to cope with website that they used to be able to cope with (probably over loaded them).
Loyalty to Smart and also Crystal hosting is not longer an asset for them.
I am extremely disappointed. They have broken my trust.
I have been with this hosting company for a few years. I paid a yearly invoice upfront. They then increased the price several times and they do not respect the invoice they have issued and I have paid.
If I was going to stay, I had to pay more. I cancelled my account and they did not refund rest of the year that I have paid upfront.
This is not acceptable. Any price increase must respect prices and invoices that have been raised before.
Totally agree. Feel totally duped by their initial offer. Then a three fold increase in price with a decrease in service & support. NOT ACCEPTABLE AT ALL. Totally unethical business practice.
Thats a 366.67% increase before you tell me price increases are inevitable.
Absolutely outrageous. A quick google returned a plethora of other companies offering the same or better product for less than I was paying originally.

Now, really bad. Rates going up 300%. Support going down. These guys used to be really good, now they are really bad. Recently, they advised their rates were increasing 3 fold. I have had serious redirect issues with them since I changed from .eu to .com because of Brexit. I am really suffering with Google all "thanks" to Smart Hosting. I will not be renewing, for sure.

I signed up to their 'premium unlimited' plan in January 2019 for £24.99 per month including WHMCS license. Spent nearly two weeks getting it all set up and commenced with selling a UK hosting service and web design. New customers gained and set up. Now, Smart are changing the goalposts and restricting my BRAND NEW (2 months old) account from unlimited everything to 25GB disk space and just 25 cPanel accounts plus I have to pay extra for WHMCS. OK, the new account, even with WHMCS as extra is still cheaper than it was (£21.98 per month) but I find it ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE that anyone can have this magnitude of change FORCED upon them in the first TWO MONTHS!
I SPECIFICALLY searched out a UK company to support when sourcing a reseller host, but now I think I really don't care WHERE I now put my future business. I think I might even farm it out to ISIS... They might be more trustworthy!
I WILL be moving my account to somebody else. There is NO WAY I am sticking with ANYBODY who thinks this is an acceptable way to run a business!!!
Other reviews of a similar nature are more than enough to tell you what you're likely to get yourself into with these people, so you'd be better off saving yourself the hurt and look elsewhere now. These guys are NOT a good option.
All these recent 5 star ratings are probably fake because I can be sure NOBODY would be happy to be treated this way!

Beware - They just over doubled their prices starting June
Been hosting with them for a while now, after a move from Heart Internet with excellent incentives - speed, price, limits. Great! 5 stars all the way. Completely happy with the service. No nasty surprises. All is good.
Roll on a year - Krystal bought them out, no biggie, all will remain the same, excellent...
But then, out of the blue, I'm told I will be facing over double my bill. Slapped a cap on hosting accounts! 5 a month to add more...REALLY...talk about crippling the little guy. Slapped disk space way down. Email accounts now have limits, you can pay 10 a month if you don't want! POS make me feel like I'm trapped now. Not for long. Maybe this is the time to set that VPS up and say goodbye.
Been using these guys for over 3 years now to host a variety of sites. They go out their way to support you and I can genuinely say I won't be moving hosts any time soon.
