Page Load Breakdown

The connect time is where the two tests tell the clearest story. It jumped from 36ms in Frankfurt to 456ms from San Antonio, a difference almost entirely explained by the physical distance between Texas and Dortmund rather than anything happening on the server.

Backend time, by contrast, stayed close between the two tests (1.1s versus 1.2s), which tells me the server itself is processing requests consistently regardless of where the visitor connects from. The slowdown for US visitors is a distance problem, not a server load problem.

Ease of Use

I went through the dogado signup exactly as a new customer would, starting from the homepage menu, working through plan selection and checkout, then into the client dashboard and the hosting management panel for the WEB XL 5.0 plan I purchased. If you only glance at the top line, you’d think you owe €321.88, when what’s actually due today is €13.99. Promotional pricing shows the full-price total first and buries the real charge in a line below it.

From the cart, checkout runs through four clearly labeled steps: Shopping Cart, Customer Data, Payment Method, Order Overview. Account creation happens between the cart and customer data steps, with two options presented on the same screen: a quick form (first name, last name, optional company, email) with a “Create an account” button, and a separate “Register now” button below it under a “You already have an account? Register here” divider.

Having two buttons that both start account creation, one styled as primary and one as secondary, cost me a second look to confirm I was filling in the right form. It’s a small thing, but it’s the kind of moment where a less confident customer might pause and wonder if they’ve done something wrong.

Customer data collection covers street, country (defaulting to Germany with a flag dropdown), postcode with autocomplete, city, and phone number, each field confirming with a green checkmark as you fill it in.

A resource usage panel sits at the top with live bars for storage (1.27 MB of 600 GB used), email accounts (0 of unlimited), and databases (0 of 300). Below that, the page is organized into a card grid rather than a single settings list, each card covering one function with its own management button:

One labeling detail worth flagging: the “Email support” card on the dashboard doesn’t open your email client or give you an address to write to.

It links straight to the ticket creation form in the client portal. If you’re expecting to send a message from your own inbox, this isn’t that. It’s the ticket system wearing an email icon.

Chat Support

I opened the chat widget from the dashboard and was greeted in German first (“Hallo👋 Benötigen Sie Hilfe?”), then prompted in English to describe my issue. I submitted my full two-part technical question about Git Repository deployment hooks and cron job execution permissions in one message.

The bot’s reply was direct about its limits rather than guessing: it said it couldn’t find a good answer, and offered three paths forward, asking the question again, checking the help articles, or opening a ticket.

I typed “Open ticket,” and the bot responded with the phone hotline number and hours (the same ones already listed on the dashboard) along with a “Create a ticket” button.
