Uptime & Reliability
Very reliable with refunds available
For VPS orders, they offer a 14-day money back guarantee, with no questions asked. Meanwhile, that guarantee triples (45-days) if you’re purchasing a shared hosting plan. Unfortunately I was disappointed to find that they explicitly offer no refund to all dedicated server plans, which is pretty unfortunate. They do perform weekly backups but they are not guaranteed, as they are not managing your servers for you, which isn’t as reliable in my opinion.
Features
Many great options available
Their shared servers are all located in the Netherlands and come with limits. Disk space ranges from 5-20GB and bandwidth from 100 to 500GB. All plans allow a minimum of 10 add-on domains, up to unlimited for the top plans, as well as unlimited e-mail accounts, FTP, databases, and more. All of the shared servers come with CloudLinux as the OS, and cPanel 11 comes installed with every one. The hard disks are also RAID-10 technology with LiteSpeed web server, offering the highest speeds and reliability. They also have many dedicated servers, all of which unfortunately come with a set-up fee. You do get to choose whether you want them in Holland, Sweden, or France, and all of them run a minimum of an i3. RAM is limited from 4 to 16GB, depending on the server you pick, and all hard drives are SATA II. While they are a bit overpriced, the servers aren’t at all bad, though I also dislike the setup fees. I would also contact them if you’re looking for more power, as they have a high-end server section that they list as sold out, but that you can contact them for a custom quote. I also recommend checking out their special deals section, a page that changes every week but offers MANY different dedicated server plans, all with different features and prices. If you’re in search for a VPS, they offer both Linux and Windows options (with cPanel or Plesk). Linux servers are either in the Netherlands or Sweden, and all of them come with a minimum of 1TB premium bandwidth, and IPv4 AND IPv6 address including for free. There are no setup fees on these, and overall are decently priced, especially with the free weekly backups they offer.
Support
High quality tech support
While they are headquartered in The Netherlands, they also have major offices in Sweden, which is also why many of their servers are located in Stockholm. They have contact phone number and faxes for both of them (as well as addresses), though they are not toll-free. What I did love is their live chat system, which unlike most companies isn’t only for sales or billing — they will help you with most technical problems there, and they are frequently online, including on the weekends.
Pricing
Most pricing is quite reasonable
While beginning prices aren’t much, only $5.69 per month, the Silver and Diamond plans are ridiculously expensive, charging $10 to $20 per month a Netherlands-based server with only 20GB of disk space. They do have an annual discount of 15% for all four plans they offer. If you’re looking for good deals, just look at their VPS offerings. The Linux ones start at $19.99 per month and include a minimum of 2 CPU cores and 1TB of bandwidth. The other plans are competitively priced, ranging from $34.95 to $69.96 per month, all of which have free weekly backups and many more features. As for their dedicated servers, the basic ones cost between $149 and $299 per month, yet all cost $50 to set up on top of the monthly fee. However, if you check their special deals page, you will find many ranging from $79 to $200+ per month, with no set-up fees, though these servers are always running out and changing, and don’t come with nearly as much customization options.
Summary
Great for VPS – Not bad for Shared
It’s a little confusing, because their shared plans are not that great, but I love their Virtual Private Servers, while feeling indifferent towards the dedicated servers that they offer. If you are in the Netherlands, that is where they are headquartered and they may be a great option for you. They also have customers in over 110 countries, speaking for their reputation and reliability that they’ve grown since founding the company in 2008. Pros:
- Excellent VPS deals
- Nice ‘specials’ for dedicated servers (these specials change weekly)
Cons:
- Fees for setting up a dedicated server
- Shared hosting is over priced
- No money back guarantees for dedicated servers
