Global cloud provider, DigitalOcean, partners up with database platform provider MongoDB to launch DigitalOcean Managed MongoDB, a fully-managed database-as-a-service (DBaaS).

DigitalOcean provides services to developers, SMBs, and startups to rapidly build, deploy and scale applications. Its mission is to accelerate innovation, increase productivity and agility. For this cause, they combine simplicity, community, open-source, and customer support.
This newest addition in their offer will further simplify the set-up process of MongoDB clusters on DigitalOcean’s cloud platform. In turn, customers will require less time to manage their infrastructure.
DigitalOcean Managed MongoDB automatically maintains, scales, and protects clusters, thus provides users with an opportunity to focus on creating apps and expanding their businesses.
Jeff Guy, who serves the role of a Chief Operating Officer at DigitalOcean, had this to say:
“DigitalOcean’s managed services are a key way we help eliminate the complexity of the cloud so customers can easily turn their ideas into powerful applications that help change the world. Our partnership with MongoDB expands our portfolio of highly curated, managed offerings tailored specifically to the developer, startup, and SMB markets. By adding support for MongoDB, we can extend the benefits of this powerful technology to our customers around the world – even those without database experience or expertise.”
Managed MongoDB automates the administering databases in the cloud process and grants clients access to the newest MongoDB document database releases.

Users also get to enjoy additional features, such as built-in security and point-in-time recovery. In turn, they get to restore their data from any point in a seven-day backup period.
The automatic failover feature delivers high availability. At last, the managed MongoDB allows its users to scale up or scale down on-demand, providing high scalability. It follows predictable pricing, such as DigitalOcean’s simple model.
Alan Chhabra, who serves the role of Senior Vice President at Worldwide Partners, MongoDB, had this to say:
DigitalOcean and MongoDB are both focused on driving developer productivity and helping more businesses run in the cloud. As part of our commitment to give developers the freedom to run anywhere, we’re excited to partner with DigitalOcean to enable customers to use MongoDB to transform their applications and grow their businesses in even more regions than previously available.
DigitalOcean’s New York, Frankfurt, and Amsterdam data center regions currently provide the latest Managed MongoDB addition.
