Comcast Business Acquires SDN and Cloud Platform Pioneer, Masergy

Comcast Business acquires Masergy, a Texas-based pioneer in software-defined networking (SDN) and cloud solutions for global organizations, improving its offering to big and mid-size businesses, especially those with multi-site operations from the US.

Comcast Business, part of Comcast Corporation, provides a range of connectivity, communications, networking, cybersecurity, wireless, and managed solutions. In turn, it assists businesses of all sizes in preparing for the future.

Bill Stemper, who serves the role of a President at Comcast Business, had this to say:

With its Managed SD-WAN, Unified Communications as a Service (UCaaS), Call Center as a Service (CCaaS), and Managed Security solutions, Masergy enables secure application performance across the network and the cloud.

For the past five years, the company has been recognized as a “Visionary” in Gartner’s Magic Quadrant for Global Network Services.

With Comcast Business’ latest acquisition, the company will combine its leading advanced fiber network with Masergy’s innovative services. In turn, Comcast Business’ customers will be able to manage their international operations and networks more efficiently and securely.

Chris MacFarland, who serves the roles of Chairman and CEO at Masergy, had this to say:

The entities haven’t disclosed the financial terms of the agreement. The acquisition is currently subject to regulatory approval and other customary conditions.
