Way Info Tech has been in business since 1996 providing inexpensive shared hosting solutions to people throughout India and the surrounding region. As far as hosting goes, they do offer a lot of features, which is nice. They allow you to choose from a variety of versions of Windows or Linux so you can get the exact level of hosting you need.
While not the largest hosting company (they only have 7000 sites that they run) they are still pretty well known in the India market. Overall this company is something of a mixed bag. They are quite inexpensive and offer some options that you can’t easily find with other companies. On the other hand, I have seen quite a few complaints about the quality of the hosting and how quickly their tech support can address issues.
While they do offer a 100% uptime promise, they don’t seem to meet that promise at all. I have seen quite a few people complaining about outages, slowness and other issues. In addition, their tech support team does not have the best reputation for getting things fixed right away, which can cause your outage to last longer than needed.
You will have a lot of features to use when you are with this company. They list them all on their site, but not in a way that is really very user friendly. For example, they let you know that you can choose from at least three versions of Windows if you want a Windows based hosting company. They also have three different feature lists for Linux, even though it seems to be the same flavor of Linux.
They also list out some of the specs of the full server that you’ll be on, even though it is a shared environment. To me this seems a little deceptive since on shared environments there is no way you will have access to anything close to the full specs. When it comes down to the actual features you will use, they are not the best out there but also not the worst. They can provide a hosting environment sufficient for personal blogs or small businesses.
When looking through what other people had to say about this company I heard a number of times that they didn’t have the best technical support. Some people complained that they took a long time to respond to issues, others that it took to long to actually get them fixed. In either case, this is not the level of support you will want for your site. They are, however, staffed 24/7.
This is one of the best things about this company. They offer inexpensive hosting that will meet the needs of many people. If you’re looking to save money, this is not a bad company to consider. Linux hosting starts at 1200 Rupees and goes up from there, but only a little bit. The 1200 price is with a 3 year commitment and you get 3 years of free domain name registration too.
There are certainly some nice things about this hosting company, and they are not at all the worst option I have ever seen. Their prices are quite good and for a small personal blog or something like that, this could be an excellent option. If you’re looking for a business site or something that demands speed and reliability, however, it is a much better idea to go with another company.
