Dedicated hosting with many options
VSHosting is one of the leading hosting companies in the Czech Republic. They are operated out of this area, and that is also where their data center is located. Their website is in the native language, so it is somewhat difficult to gather information through the translated version. Overall, however, it seems to be a company that provides quality dedicated servers to all their customers.
Unlike most companies that offer only dedicated servers, this one also has option for managed servers. This means that they will provide more in depth technical support when it is needed and aren’t just responsible for things like the actual hardware and the data center. They do have some dedicated servers that are not managed, and those come at a discount compared to the managed options.
Uptime & Reliabiliity
Hosting seems stable
As with many non-English hosting companies, it is somewhat difficult to determine exactly how stable the hosting is for this company. I didn’t see any uptime guarantee on their site, which is something of a concern. Of course, the guarantee doesn’t always mean the hosting is actually good.
When I looked through other sites and social media to see what I could find there was very little said about the reliability of their hosting either way.
Features
Quality features that you control
As with most companies that focus on dedicated hosting, you will largely be able to choose the features you want. They provide the hardware and data center, but since you have root access you will be able to install the software that you want. This is nice for those who know what they are doing, but can be somewhat confusing.
This is why it is really great that they do offer some managed servers so you can have their technical staff do things like install operating systems and more. In addition to just the web hosting, they also offer server hosting, which means they will house your servers in their data center and provide the network connection. This is important for app developers and others who need a quality host for a non-website type server.
Support
Quality support available 24/7
This company seems to provide great support. It is over the phone or through email, which is nice. If you are not from the Czech Republic, however, it may be difficult to get the support you need due to the possibility of a language barrier.
I could not find any blog or knowledge base to reference for self help, which is disappointing. It is not, however, uncommon for these things to be missing when looking at a dedicated server hosting company.
Pricing
Prices seem to be about average
The prices are all listed in their local currency, which can make it difficult to discern how good of a deal this actually is. When I ran it through a currency exchange the prices seem to be in line with what most other companies charge for similar services. You’ll pay more for managed hosting than the unmanaged, which is normal.
Summary
Hosting services seems to be quite good
Overall it is difficult to give this hosting company a really strong endorsement, or to say that it isn’t great. There is just not enough information out there to make a really good determination. From what I can tell, however, they seem to have been in business for quite a while and they have obtained at least two ISO certifications, which is a good signal.
