Uptime & Reliability
Quality Hosting
This company does not seem to offer any type of uptime guarantee, but the quality of their hardware and data centers are quite good. In addition, they have human technicians on site monitoring their systems at all time, which can help to prevent any type of outage. Users of this company seem to be quite happy with the overall level of service offered by TNP Host.
Features
Lots of Options
This company splits up their hosting services based on how many sites you want to run (one or multiple) and then by the operating system (Linux or Windows). This is nice because it allows you to sign up just for what you want without having to pay more than you need.
The single site Linux hosting option gives you 500 megs of disk space, 50 gigs of bandwidth and 5 email addresses. You can move up to the ‘super charged’ option that has 40 gigs of disk space, 500 gigs of bandwidth and unlimited email addresses. For all the hosting options at this level, however, you may have only one domain.
If you want more than one domain you can adjust to that option and it will be a little more expensive, but you’ll get additional resources as well. Overall the shared hosting options are quite nice.
You can move up to VPS solutions, which they have eight options for. The VPS hosting starts at 1.47GHz with 1 gig of RAM and 40 gigs of disk space. You can then go all the way up to 11.73GHz CPU, 8.5 Gigs of RAM and 350 GB disk space. Overall the systems are quite strong and a great option for those who need the extra power.
Finally, there are dedicated servers that range from 4 core hyper threaded processors with 8 gigs of RAM all the 64 gigs of RAM. They also have a variety of hard disk options and more. The dedicated servers can also come with dual processor configurations, which puts you up to a total of 12 cores. These high end machines have 32 or 64 gigs of RAM.
Support
Good Live Support 24/7
The tech support with this company is quite good. They have live monitoring by real people 24/7/365 and will answer any issues you have quite quickly. They do have live chat, but it is not always online. In addition you can get in touch with them via phone or a ticketing system. They don’t have a knowledge base or FAQ for self-help learning.
Pricing
Big Price Range
The price range with this company is quite large. The shared hosting options range from about $1.50 to just under $8 per month. When you move up to the VPS it starts at about $40 per month and goes up from there. Many hosting companies have at least a few low cost VPS solutions, which seem to be missing here.
Dedicated servers start out quite high at $250 per month. This is not out of line based on the hardware you’re getting, but once again they are missing the entry level dedicated server options. On the high end options it will be $450 or $500 per month.
Summary
Quality Hosting Solution
TNP Host is a good overall hosting option. They have a lot of options and seem to do a good job at keeping their customers happy. You may find that some things like entry level VPS are missing, but msot people will be able to find a hosting package that meets their needs.
