Target Host opened for business in 2003 and has been growing and expanding ever since. They offer a variety of services including web hosting, cloud services, online stores, email marketing, SEO, web development and much more. This review is specifically about the web hosting services that they offer. The services they have are reasonable and easy to understand.
Most customers seem to be quite happy with them and the level of service they are able to provide. The company is based in Brazil but they have servers in Europe, Asia and North America as well.
Uptime & Reliability
Hosting Seems Stable
There is not too much information on the actual uptime of the sites with this company. Those who did comment on their hosting experience didn’t say that they were down at all, which is a good sign. There is no uptime guarantee that I could locate on their site. The hardware they use is sufficient to provide a good experience, but it is not the highest end option I’ve seen. While it would be nice if there were more information about the uptime, there is no real reason to be concerned that you’ll have excessive outages.
Features
Quality Hosting Features
The shared hosting packages with this company are pretty straight forward. They only have three to choose from. The startup option has 25 gigs of disk space, business class has 75 gigs and enterprise has 150 gigs. All of the options have unlimited bandwidth. They also include remote backup services up to the amount of disk space included in the package you choose.
If you need something more powerful you can move up to their dedicated servers. Here two they have three main categories to choose from. The first one has an i3 CPU with 2 gigs of disk space and two 160 gig hard drives. The highest level server has i5 CPUs, 8 gigs of disk space two hard disks at 1TB each. They do limit bandwidth on these packages to 5 TB for the entry level option and 10TB for both of the other two packages. You’ll get three IP addresses no matter what package you select.
Support
Limited Information Available
This hosting provider has very little information about the support they provide. They do have a knowledge base with some decent information in it, and there seems to be a way to open a ticket but you have to have an account first. Customers who reviewed this company seem happy with the support they get, but it would be nice if they had more information about it on their own website.
Pricing
Slightly Above Average Pricing
The pricing is slightly above what you might expect to see with other companies. All the pricing is done in the Brazilian currency, so that needs to be factored in. As of the time of this writing Brazilian currency is worth a little bit over $.25 on the dollar. When converted the entry level shared hosting is about $4 per month, which is not bad. The enterprise option, however, is a little over $15 per month, which is high.
Dedicated hosting solutions are also a little on the expensive side, though not terribly. The first dedicated server is a little over $100 per month, and the highest level option is a little over $200 per month. For this price you should be getting more RAM and better CPU’s.
Summary
Some Concerns but Overall Good Hosting
There are some concerns with this company such as the slightly high prices and the lack of information about the uptime. That being said, however, they have been providing this service for some time and their customers seem to be happy. It is likely that anyone who uses them will have a good overall experience.
