Sprint Host is a Russian based hosting company that offers shared and VPS hosting solutions. They also have domain name registration options. Their website has a very causal look and feel to it and it is a little hard to get around to the places where you need to be. In addition, it doesn’t translate well to English. Once you get past those things, however, the hosting is reasonable and so is the pricing.
They have about 100,000 customers, which makes them a nice mid-sized company. From what I can tell, the customers seem to be quite satisfied with the level of hosting they are provided with. Most of the reviews, however, are in Russian so I am working with a limited sample of information.
Uptime & Reliability
Hosting Appears to be Very Stable
The hosting with this company appears to be quite stable. They make it a point to say that they don’t oversell their servers and the hardware they use is very nice. Overall you should have no issues with outages or even extreme slowness. I didn’t see any type of uptime guarantee though, which some people may find disappointing.
Features
Nice List of Features
The features provided by this company are all quite nice. Their shared hosting solutions have unlimited MySQL databases, unlimited domains, free backup and more. You can get 3-15 gigs of solid state drives too, which is very nice. Solid state drives are the ideal way to store data for hosting and it is nice to see it available on shared solutions.
When you move up to VPS solutions you will get full root access and the ability to console into the server. They also have additional options for support at this level. It is hard to find the list of specs on these servers though, which is unfortunate. Interestingly, they do offer a dedicated server option, though it is hard to find on their site. The server runs with Intel Xeon processors, solid state drives and either Linux, Windows or Unix.
Support
Tech Support Seems Good
Getting in touch with the technical support teams isn’t very difficult at all. You can call them, open a ticket or use their email support options. They will reply quickly and help get your issues fixed without a problem. They have some nice technical documentation to help you through any issues you may run into while hosting with this company.
Pricing
Reasonable Prices
The prices are all in Russian Repels but when you convert it to dollars you can see that it is a reasonable deal based on what you are getting. Entry level shared hosting starts at 98 R per month and goes up to 498. You do get a free domain at the mid level package and two free domains at the higher level option.
VPS hosting starts at 360 R per month and the dedicated servers start at 5300R. At each level it is easy to see that they set their prices based on the features and hardware that you will be getting. This helps make it easy to ensure you are getting a good deal no matter what type of hosting you select.
Summary
Quality Russian Hosting
The hosting with this company is quite good. While there are some points of concern, the overall level of service will be high enough to meet the needs of virtually any customers. If you’re looking for hosting in Russia or the surrounding region, this may be a very nice company to consider.
