While their focus is still on New Zealand, they have expanded into other countries as well. They offer professional hosting services to all their customers, which includes customizable solutions based on a customer’s specific needs.
They offer dedicated hosting, cloud hosting, VPS hosting and shared hosting services, though their focus seems to be on the VPS and dedicated solutions rather than the shared.
You’ll have a 99.9% uptime guarantee, which applies to their network stability. They report that since 2004 they have met the 99.9% service level so clearly they know how to keep their services up and stable. Given that they use high quality hardware for all their servers, there is certainly no reason to think anyone will have any type of issues with downtime.
The features are quite good overall. You can choose from any level of hosting that you’re interested in, which is nice. At the shared hosting level there is just one package though, and it is over priced for what you’re getting. You can have 500 megs of disk space and unlimited traffic. They do limit you to three websites for this level though.
When you move up to the VPS solutions you will have a lot more options to meet your needs. Interestingly, the entry level VPS is the same price as the shared hosting, but with much better features. VPS starts at 1 core CPU and 1.5 gigs of RAM and can be customized up from there.
Their dedicated servers have a few base options but then also allow you to create a custom server as well to meet all your needs. These servers start at 24 gigs of RAM and go up to 96, which is quite good. For the custom servers they say the range is from 16 to 768 gigs of RAM. Hard drives can either be traditional or SSD based on what you want.
Since 2004 this company has had an average response time on tickets of less than 60 minutes. This is pretty good overall. They have worked over 165,000 tickets during this time and from what I can tell based on user reviews, they are quick to solve issues and help their customers.
The pricing with this company is not the cheapest you will find. They do offer good quality for the price in most cases though. The shared hosting package is $30 per month, which is way too much for what you get. Nobody should consider this option since for the same price you can move up to the entry level VPS.
The VPS plans can range from $30 to $620 per month. Once again, for the higher end VPS’s the prices are in the same range as their dedicated servers, so it doesn’t always make sense to go with those options. Dedicated servers start at $280 and go to $615 for the pre-configured options. The custom servers can go basically as high as you would like.
The hosting with this company is very good. If you live in New Zealand or any nearby countries it has a lot to offer. You do have to be careful to make sure you select the right package or you might end up paying more than you need to.
