Great hosting services targeted for resellers
ResellerClub is a well-known hosting company that provides reseller services to people who want to offer hosting as part of their service packages. Most web hosting companies offer this type of service, but not as a primary focus. This is actually a pretty good idea as a concept, because resellers need different types of focus. Unfortunately, ResellerClub doesn't really seem to do a very good job at it.
First, it is clear that if you are only looking for hosting for yourself, this is not the right company to go with. They don't really put any effort toward this type of thing at all, and you'll end up paying for too much and getting too little.
While the hosting has the potential to be ok for an individual site, it would be too confusing to try to figure out which features are specifically for the hosting and which ones are targeted towards the resellers.Read More
Uptime & Reliability
99.99% Uptime Guarantee (but it is rarely met)
ResellerClub offers a 99.99% uptime guarantee for all their hosting services, but you will need to be prepared to use it. I have seen many former customers complaining about frequent downtime and slow loading speeds on their sites. In addition, it is difficult to enforce the 99.99% uptime guarantee so you likely will end up not getting any credits on your bill.
They also offer a 30 day money back guarantee, and redundant servers to help avoid downtime, but it doesn't seem to be implemented very well.
Reseller focused features
Regarding the actual hosting packages, this company has shared hosting services as well as VPS and dedicated servers. They do offer Linux and Windows options for all their hosting packages, which is a very nice perk.
The real benefits of this company come in when you look at the reseller features. For example, they will help set up a reseller interface that you can use to market to your potential customers. They also provide 'over 800' products that are tailored specifically to resellers looking to promote their hosting services. They do have servers available in data centers around the world, which is very important for resellers.
Unfortunately, I have seen many people complain about the different features saying that they aren't reliable, some don't really work at all. While they do have a lot to offer, they have a very bad reputation when it comes to actually implementing the services.
Slow response times on tech support
They claim to have 24/7 tech support but I'm not sure I believe it. Their 'live chat' feature seems to be offline all the time, and many people have been complaining that it takes days to get a response from a submitted ticket. Overall, their technical support seems to be very poor.
Prices aren't bad, but you don't get much
They have multiple packages at just about every price point, starting at just $1.49 per month for their entry level services. All but the top tier shared hosting is limited in disk space and bandwidth, but once you move above this point it is unlimited. The VPS and dedicated server prices are in line with industry standards, and will make it easier for those who are reselling the service to make a nice profit each month from their customers.
While their actual price points are quite competitive, you have to look at what you are getting for the money. After all, even if the hosting was free, it wouldn't be worth it if your sites were always done. Having a good reliable host is essential for any reseller, so I have to say that even though the prices are low, you are still paying too much.
Not the best choice for your hosting needs
Overall this is a well established company that provides an excellent service to their customers, and the people that the hosting is sold to. They are very focused on providing top reseller services, so those who just need regular hosting may not want to go with this company.
