My Dreams is based in the Czech Republic and they are focused on providing VPS and cloud hosting. While this is their specialty area, they do have a couple of shared hosting options you can choose as well. They also provide a variety of other digital services and “SaaS” options for companies that need something more advanced. They do offer hosting for adult sites as well, which may make them unattractive to some companies that don’t want to be associated with this type of thing even if it is just by sharing similar IPs or other things like that.
Their site is well set up and they have the option to automatically translate it into English, which is nice. Unfortunately, some of the pages don’t actually translate at all.
Uptime & Reliability
Some Potential Issues
They use a good quality data center, and their hardware seems to be well maintained, both of which help to contribute to a more stable environment. I did not see any type of uptime guarantee on their site, which is unfortunate. When looking at other people who have used them there really wasn’t much being said about their reliability either positive or negative.
Cloud hosting companies do tend to be more stable than other options, but that is not a hard and fast rule. One concern I would have is that the company has a lot of porn sites on their servers. For whatever reason, those types of hosts tend to be targeted more for things like malware attacks, DDoS attacks and other things that can very well impact your site’s reliability. Even if you’re not hosting adult content yourself, this is something to be concerned about.
Just to note, I am not aware of any of these types of problems directly impacting this company. This is just something I’ve noticed about adult hosting companies in the past so it is good to be aware of before making any type of final decisions with what company you go with.
Features
Many Features to Choose From
When you are just looking at their hosting options their features are all fairly standard. They don’t have much by way of shared hosting, but their VPS and cloud services are quite nice. They also don’t seem to offer dedicated hosting, which is what many larger businesses will want. If you’re looking to host ‘adult’ websites they have specifics packages just for that.
In addition to the actual hosting services, however, they also offer website creation, online marketing, web design, mass mail services, and much more. This makes them an attractive option for mid-sized companies that are looking for a true IT partner and not just a hosting provider.
Support
Limited Info on Support
They don’t really offer too much information on their support teams, and most people who have written about this company in the past don’t really comment on it either. This leads me to believe that they likely provide acceptable hosting support, but it is hard to say for sure. When I was writing this review their online chat feature was offline (8-9AM Eastern Time on a Friday).
They do have a blog and technical articles, which can be very helpful. They also have a FAQ and other resources. When it comes to education and self-help, they really do a good job.
Prices
Many Different Price Points
They have a wide range of different price points. As would be expected, the more you are going to pay, the better the services you are going to get. The prices are certainly not outrageous, but they aren’t cheap either. If this is a company you’re otherwise interested in, I’d say that the prices won’t really be any type of real road block to using them. On the other hand, if you’re on the fence with thier services, the prices aren’t attractive enough to make you want to sign up.
Summary
Not a Bad Option for Czech Hosting
If you want hosting in the Czech Republic, this is not a bad option to consider. There are some things to be concerned about, but if you evaluate them and determine that the issues are not too great for you than they will likely be a good hosting provider.
Pros:
- Lots of extra services available
- Easy to navigate site
Cons:
- No dedicated servers
- Adult Hosting (may or may not be a negative depending on your position)
