MonsterMegs is based in the US and has been offering customers reliable hosting plans, for individuals or companies, for years now, and their staff is equipped from top to bottom with highly experienced individuals who have been in the hosting industry for at least a decade. They offer different server locations that are all fully-managed, rather than just using someone’s shared or reseller services. It has been ranked as one of the best hosting providers by numerous organizations and are known for their reliability.
MonsterMegs offers three rock-solid guarantees that also beats the ones offered by their competitors. Just about everyone has the 99.9% uptime guarantee, so that’s no surprise here. They back up their words though — if at any month your website isn’t up 99.9% of the time, you will be given a credit for time lost. They have a time schedule where depending on how long your website was down for (45 minutes being the least) up to 36 hours, you will be given anywhere from 5 to 100% credit.
In addition, they also offer a now common 30-day money back guarantee which is useful — if something isn’t as advertised, you can just get your money back and go elsewhere. What really stands them out in my opinion is a support guarantee they have: you will get a reply within 2-hours. They will actually credit your account if at any point in any ticket you don’t get a reply within 2 hours, as many times as it happens. They are in my experience the best support team and they’ve gotten back to me within 2hr every time, regardless of when I submitted the ticket.
They have server locations in both North America and Europe, all of them running at least 8-core Xeon process. This allows all of their plans, whether it’s shared or enterprise hosting services, or even a reseller plan, to function with low ping times, high speeds, and 99.9% uptime. In addition, all of their plans come with daily and weekly managed backups at no extra cost.
None of their plans, whether Shared or Enterprise, offer more than 2TB monthly bandwidth or 75GB of Raid-10 Disk Space, which is a big limitation if you’re looking for a large plan, but for anybody else (most websites on the internet use much less than 2TB bandwidth per month). On the bright side, ALL of their plans, even their most basic shared hosting, come with a FREE domain name — that in itself is a steal. And while they have multiple server locations, all of their servers run Linux only, and while cPanel 11 is great, you don’t have the option for a Windows Plesk unit if desired.
They offer great reseller hosting plans that are affordable and have great features. Most of their plans allow you to make unlimited cPanel accounts, give you personal private name servers, and even a dedicated IP address — all for free just for signing up to their reseller plans. If you have the ability to get customers who want small shared hosting plans, you have the ability to profit. If you need SSL certificates for security, they also offer the four standard SSL Certificates available, making your website secure and certified.
They have a toll-free number that’s open during business hours which you can call for technical or billing support. That’s in addition to the ticket and e-mail support system they offer. Unlike many companies, they have a physical address, and they proudly list it, along with their social media networks, you know they’re a company you can trust and rely on. Finally, they also have a useful live chat system, and while it’s not 24/7, they can help you efficiently when online, saving the agony of having to make a phone call or wait for an e-mail reply.
All of their plans are priced extremely competitive and are actually cheaper than a lot of other hosts. While they don’t begin at 1 or 2 dollars per month (5.95 is their cheapest plan), remember they all come with a domain name for free and all of the plans that are 12.95 or above come with a free dedicated IP. Overall, there is a competitive edge on their pricing because of all the features they offer.
Their enterprise hosting plans are also competitively priced (between 30 and $70/month), but i’m not as sold on those plans. While they include a free SSL Certificate and dedicated IP, the HD or Bandwidth just isn’t enough to be comfortable with. The reseller plans offered by MonsterMegs are some of the best around, starting at 12.95 per month and also includes a free domain name. With the ability to create 25 (or unlimited) cPanel accounts, all for one low monthly price, it can be a lucrative plan that actually beats out other providers.
Overall, MonsterMegs is affordable and has some unusual guarantees that makes them trustable. Unfortunately, if you have a high-traffic website or plan on taking up huge amounts of space, they are better companies out there. However, if you just need a basic shared hosting plan, you are getting a heck of a deal that’s guaranteed and reliable. Not to mention you will walk out of the deal with a free domain name regardless of what plan you pick, it’s not such a bad deal after all. There are so many companies out there that are hard to trust, so that fact alone sells me on them.
