This is a somewhat unusual hosting company, but not necessarily in a bad way. First of all, they have their servers in the US, which is good for most customers. I could not pinpoint where they are based out of though. I would normally assume the US, but their site is in another language. I translated it with Google Translate, which said it was an African language, which is odd for hosting companies. They do provide good overall hosting for any type of site. Their main focus seems to be on shout cast hosting, which is a hosting service for online radio stations and things like that. While not terribly odd, this is still not the typical service most companies provide. I will say, their site looks very professionally done and loads up fast. Overall, I’m getting a positive impression from them and from what I have read about them.
Uptime & Reliability
No Known Issues
This company has a good reputation for quality hosting at all levels. I have seen quite a few of their current and former customers who have left them positive reviews regarding the stability of their sites. They, however, only offer a 99% uptime guarantee, which is lower than what most other companies give. From what I have seen with other hosting options that do this, however, it is really more just a feature they offer to satisfy customers who want some type of guarantee. None the less, they should really at least bump it up to the standard 99.9%.
Features
Lots of Nice Features
The services available from this company are quite generous for the price. They have good quality shared hosting, nice VPS solutions and from what I can tell, their shout cast prices are also right in line with industry standards. Each type of hosting they offer comes in several different package options, which is nice. Oddly, the pricing on each package is very close together. For example, their entry level option is $2.70 per month. Their next option up is $2.90 per month. For the $.20 extra you get quite a bit more in services, so I’m not sure why anyone would select the cheaper plan. This may be their marketing strategy, I’m not sure. They do have limits on things like disk space and data transfer for most of their packages. These limits aren’t too low, but they aren’t the best I’ve seen. For the entry level site, for example, you are limited to one domain, 500 megs of disk space and 5 gigs of bandwidth. This is more than enough for a basic site, but still somewhat limiting.
Support
Very Friendly and Helpful
Their tech support (and customer service for that matter) is quite good. They reply to requests quickly and are very friendly. It is not immediately clear where their tech support team is from, but it does seem that they are outsourced to another country (or they are located in the headquarters of this company, which doesn’t seem to be the US). Whatever the case, they are able to support your site well and you won’t likely have any significant issues.
Pricing
Good Prices
The prices for this company are quite reasonable. They start at $2.70 for normal shared hosting. For an entry level shout cast solution it is only $2 per month, which is lower than what I have seen other companies provide. I’m not really an expert on shout cast hosting though so it is hard to say if they are sacrificing any type of quality for that price. From what I can tell, it doesn’t seem like they are. While they don’t really promote it well on their site or in their list of options, they do have a VPS service that you can sign up for. It is a fairly standard VPS and will likely meet any hosting needs that you have.
Summary
Very Nice Hosting
Overall, this seems to be a very nice hosting option, especially if you are going to be running any type of shout cast station. They have a good reputation, and even won the Excellent Service honor from HostAdvice. While there are some little oddities here and there with their service, it does seem that just about everyone who uses them is very happy with the service they get. Pros:
- Lots of options
- Shout Cast Services Available
- Excellent Service
- Fair Prices
Cons:
- Only a 99% uptime guarantee
- Odd package options
