Problems with Jumpline Delux Corp.

Within another Day(today's date is 7/19/22)I'll probably have to get a hold of my CC company and explain the problem so I can get reimbursed ! Cause I'm contemplating having issues with refunds from Jumpline? We'll see??

Appalling service and support

I have been hosted on Jumpline and/or one of the companies they acquired for about 20 years. Two months ago they apparently tried to migrate my account across servers and crashed the hardware - and everything, including their bac...Read Morekups, was lost. For the past 2 months, I have not been able to get a response of any sort other than 'we will escalate it to our admins'. I finally got a response back yesterday to say the account was unrecoverable. I can almost understand the technical issue but (A) losing backups and (B) more importantly - NO response for almost 2 months is unacceptable. After 20 years, I am moving elsewhere and STRONGLY recommend others to stay as far away as possible from Jumpline.Less

Used to be a good service

Used to be a good, responsive service but appears to have been outsourced or taken over by someone else. Now they tell you you problem is escalated to 'top level support' but there is no action on the problem for days and no resp...Read Moreonse when asking for an update. The mighty have really fallen. :(

I was a Simplehost client for years, but they moved my site over to Jumpline. For many, many years, the service was reliable and the customer service was stellar. I honestly don't know what happened. I stopped being able to use my...Read More control panel on November 24th of 2021 and it still does not work. When I asked what to do, they provided me a non-secure link to access my files, but provided no eta on when it would be back up. I tried to call, but you cannot call them anymore, only email. I emailed a few times, they did not return my emails. I contacted chat when I could get through, and got very little help. It's really a shame, I've cancelled my service and migrated my domain to someone who is more reliable. If this was a few years ago, I would have recommended this service to everyone, but something has dramatically changed. :(Less

After nearly 20 years of great service - they have finally learned how to suck!

I have been with jumpline since about 2000 - 2001 or so. They *USED TO BE* worry free, easy going, and helpful! Support people *USED TO* take ownership and drive problems to closure quickly. Then they moved their operation to a ne...Read Morew location. At the new location they discovered a whole new level of support. They learned HOW TO SUCK! No more live people, only email support, no one takes ownership, and you cannot get tech competent people who know how to solve problems -- no hope of getting something resolve in less than 48 hours -- often it might take weeks -- REALLY!!! I could go on and on -- but what's the point. If you don't care about your stuff, then this is the perfect fit for you, because nowadays neither to they! (or at least that is how they act)Less

I agree. My email has been down for two days and all I get is crickets when I open a ticket or chat. They were once problem free and now htey are not worth my money or my time.

Laurie Shlala,
By the way, they are using COVID as an excuse not to provide phone support. It has been 2 years, they could have figured out a way if they cared at all about customer service.

Migration nightmare

I have been with Jumpline for almost 17 plus years. Never had a problem. On October 9, 2021 they preformed a migration.
My site has been down since that date. All support at Jumpline has accomplished nothing to bring my site ba...Read Moreck on line. All I get is an automated email response. They have no phone support and no online chat. I cannot express my dissatisfaction strong enough with Jumpline and their lack of support. Jumpline has taken my money and migrated with my cash.Less
Same problem...although, 2 days ago, I happen to catch online chat (which has not been active since this mess began) Still all I got was we are working on it...it's complete bull****! My website is my livelihood as I am sure yours is as well. I am furious that I am helpless...

jumline SUCKS!

jumpline SUCKS! I was there, when it was HostICAN, before jumpline bought them, for 17 YEARS! They just moved their whole operation to Buffalo, NY and after the move my website went down and wouldn't work. They said they would put...Read More me on a "cloud linux" server, that would cure the problem. After they kept lying and saying that they moved my account and not doing it, then moving me to another server, (website STILL didn't work), then not installing the necessary components on their server to allow my version of PHP to function, (for well over another week), I moved, with about 6 months of hosting time left. They did it ALL on purpose! I have all the emails for proof, because I've filed a number of formal complaints on them, (FTC, FCC, Attorneys General in OH & NY). DO NOT EVEN THINK ABOUT USING THESE LYING BUMS!!! I now use HostArmada.com, an AWESOME ISP!!Less
Same here. They WILL NOT even respond to tickets! My site is on WIX, with proper IP & DNS pointing to Jumpline. No email client setup works, site is up & webmail DOES work. All i want in the EPP code to get away from these scumbags, never gets sent. THE WORST!!
what? what? what?what?what?what?what?what?what?what?what?what?
My site has been down for almost a week as well. Just like you no response to tickets, they don't answer the phone and live chat is offline! I am losing business as I assume you are too! Have you had any luck?
They still never responded to my tickets! *But, the domain admin page FINALLY sent the EPP code to my email address, after I changed the registrar to *me... Migrating to WIX (waiting stage). I have a client who's email is still in Limbo, also. TERRIBLE company since Deluxe bought them!

Expert Overview

Good hosting from a well established company

Jumpline.com has been in business since 1997, and remains privately owned and operated.  They have both their offices and their data center located in Columbus, Ohio.  They lease the space as a Qwest Cyber Center (Qwest is a telephone company).  This may give them some benefits with things like uptime and data transfer speed.  The company has about 65,000 customers, and offers them a variety of hosting options that can meet most people’s needs.  They target both individuals and businesses, and do a good job at keeping customers happy once they get them.

While not the biggest hosting company, they have managed to have a steady growth rate over the years, and they apparently have very loyal customers, which is clearly a good signal that their services are top notch.  Whether you’re looking for hosting for your entry level site, or you need something more advanced, they can help with that too.

Overall, this hosting company has been providing really nice services for a very long time, and if you are looking for a host for US based audiences, this one may be perfect.

Uptime & Reliability

Great, stable hosting powered by top of the line equipment

Jumpline.com offers a 99.9% server uptime guarantee, which is great.  In addition, they keep their data center well maintained and updated with all the latest technologies.  Things like daily backups with 10 day retention, redundant networking equipment, redundant power supplies, and much more, it is easy to see how this company is able to keep their services up and stable without any trouble.

Nice features with a few great extras

One of the first things you’ll notice with this company is that they don’t offer traditional shared hosting for their lower end options. They have what is called a Virtual Dedicated Server (VDS) that gives customer’s improved security and flexibility.  It almost seems to be closer to a VPS than shared hosting, but with a significantly lower price.  The price for this level, however, is higher than most shared options (you can save significantly by paying annually though!).

In addition, they have traditional VPS and dedicated server options, both of which have the same general features that you would expect from any company.  Their servers are all from Dell, and Cisco supplies their networking equipment, so quality is not a concern with this company.  Other than that, you’ll get all the normal features that you can expect from any other hosting company.

24/7 support from a small but talented team

This is a fairly small company, but it seems that they are very dedicated.  You’ll get 24/7 phone support as well as access to their ticketing system.  In most cases, they will review your issues and have them resolved very quickly.

They also have a dedicated support blog that can answer common questions and show you how to do some of your own troubleshooting and other support steps.

Higher prices for entry level and industry standard options for VPS & Dedicated

Since their entry level hosting is the VDS option explained above, you will have to pay slightly more.  Their lowest level option is about $10 per month, though right now you can save half if you pay annually.  The prices go up from there, and are largely in line with industry standards.  Given the fact that they have great uptime and a good overall experience, it is easy to see that you are getting what you pay for with this company.

Very nice hosting from a small but reliable company

While this company is smaller than many of the other options available, they do give you a more personal touch that will keep you happy.  Most people find that they are very happy with the services, and seem to stay with them for a very long time.

  • Personal attention from a small company
  • In business for a very long time
  • Privately owned company

  • Entry level prices are higher than most shared hosting
