Http guarantees that their server availability will be 99.9%, but as with most hosting companies the actual availability statistics are not posted.

After doing a bit of research, I learned that the delivery of internet service in Israel is provided by one of three companies, one of which is “013 Lightning”; this is where Http houses the physical part of their operations. As I understand their website, Http isn’t a reseller but is in more of a co-location relationship with 013 lightning.  In many ways, this arrangement could be viewed as a added value for customers, as the host company doubtless has greater resources as one of the three ISP’s in Israel.

Web hosting appears to still be part of the main focus of Http’s operations; the company has developed several different hosting packages for just about any need from blogs to enterprise-level interests.

All hosting operations run on the Linux platform, both web hosting and storage configurations are available.  While the entry-level web hosting selection offers a modest storage of 40 MB, 1 website and 2 mailboxes, the prices seem quite low.  As expected, the allowances increase with the price, with the top-rated web hosting solution offering 1 TB of storage space and unlimited websites and mailboxes. Storage server operations are prices individually based on user specifications.

Dedicated servers, which Http terms as “server leasing” is also available; for an additional fee on-site maintenance and management is available which includes firewall, optimization, OS and application installation; as with the storage operations, these services are priced individually based on customer requirements.

Support

Good Support but Limited Live Hours

While the support site says that email requests can be made 24/7, there are no service-level agreements (SLA’s) listed.  When I see that on any website, it leads me to believe that those emails will be addressed when standard support hours resume.  The regular support hours are 09:00-19:00 local time, Sunday through Thursday.

As with a few other items, some phrases aren’t clear, quite possibly from Google’s translation from Hebrew to English; the term “http has established a sales and support center” doesn’t make it clear if the Http company operates the customer service portion of the business or not.

There was no online ticketing platform or FAQ page, only a link to configuring FTP services on the support page; customers can email 24/7 or call during the listed coverage hours.

Pricing

Very reasonable rates

Http seems to be committed to offering web hosting and storage to just about everyone; prices for the “mini” web hosting package is 38 NIS ($9.58 US) annually and a storage service starts at 48 NIS ($12.40 US).

Reseller packages are listed from 167-333 NIS ($42.11 to $83.96 US) monthly; the firm states that the hardware and communications media are kept up to date to meet their stringent standards with easy-to-use control panels for every configuration.

SSL services are available at 240 ILS ($60.41 US) using the RapidSSL and GeoTrust standards; Http states that their prices for SSL are “the lowest in the country”.

Http offers a significant discount for paying annually; even greater savings can be realized by paying for two years in advance.  All services are subject to Israel’s 18% value-added tax.

Summary

Very nice Israeli Option

Overall, Http seems to offer a very good variety of service packages that should meet the needs of many different types of businesses.  Each offering has clearly marked allowances as well as other technical specifications which make selecting the correct package easy.
