Hostingnet has been in business since 2008 and they are located in Chili. They are a hosting company that also provides domain management and other technical services. You can use them for shard hosting or VPS options, which means you’ll likely only want them for small to mid-sized sites. Larger corporations will need something more powerful than this company can offer, but the vast majority of sites will do just fine on the hosting options offered by this company.
Uptime & Reliability
Seems Stable
This is another area where they don’t seem to provide you with very much information. They don’t have an uptime guarantee that I could find, and I could not find people talking about it one way or the other on social media or other sites. This is not too uncommon for smaller hosting companies, but it does make it hard to know whether or not they are a stable hosting company.
Features
Easy to Understand Features
The features with this company are clearly laid out and easy to understand. Looking at their shared hosting options you’ll have three personal plans and three business grade plans. In each case you’ll have at least a gig of disk space and unlimited bandwidth. They also don’t limit the number of email addresses, which is nice. No limits on the number of domains you can host with them either. When you move up to VPS solutions you’ll get 30 gigs of disk space and they do limits you to 1000 gigs of bandwidth. This is a lot though so you won’t likely run into issues.
They use the cPanel system, which is the most popular. They also provide root access on all their VPS machines. From start to finish this company really does give you a good set of features. While there isn’t much that makes them stand out from other companies, there isn’t much missing either.
Support
24/7 Tech Support
The tech support is there for you 24/ 7 and can help you with most types of problems. They seem to respond quickly and help you with whatever you need. In addition to the tech support, they also have video tutorials and a blog to help you learn more about your overall hosting experience.
Pricing
Low Prices
The prices are quite low, especially for the level of service you get. The shared hosting starts at just $12.80 per year. That is right about a dollar per month. Even the higher level shared hosting plans are only $21.90 per year, making them very affordable. Most companies would charge much more than this one is for the same level of services. This does make me worry that they are overselling their servers, which would be unfortunate. I could not, however, find people complaining of slow response times or anything like that, which is the most common symptom of oversold hosting.
Summary
Decent Hosting in Chili
The hosting from this company is pretty good. They aren’t missing anything that is important, but they don’t have too much that sets them apart either. The pricing is low, which is nice. If you’re looking for average hosting at a below average price, this is a nice option to consider.
