They do not have a noticeably place guaranteed uptime on their site, but a quick internet search shows an uptime of 99.97%, which is considered “excellent”. Customer reviews also do not show any negative comments about their reliability, either.
Features vary based on hosting location
Shared hosting options vary slightly between India-based and US-based hosting options. While their economy package in India is slightly less expensive, you also get less storage and less bandwidth per month than the US hosting plan. The US shared hosting plans start with 1000MB of storage, 5000MB of bandwidth a month; they host 1 domain, and come with many more features. These additional features include web hosting features, email hosting features, and additional individual upgrades for each package such as adding on more storage or bandwidth.
Virtual private server plans start with 25 GB of disk space, 500GB of bandwidth, 1GB of dedicated ram and more. Other features include free DNS management, dedicated IPs, and hosting of unlimited websites and databases. They also include with all plans additional software downloads and applications for building your websites and catering to clients’ needs.
Reasonable support options
This company has a 24×7 ticketing support system. They also seem to have a live chat system as well, but it is unclear what their hours are as the “leave a message” note was up while I was reviewing the site. They do also have a knowledgebase and forum support for you to attempt to find answers yourself, otherwise, their ticketing system seems to be the way to go.
Very affordable hosting option
Shared Windows hosting based out of India starts at $12 per year, or $19.99 per year if based out of the United States. Shared Linux hosting plans out of India also start at $12 per year, and they do not seem to have US based shared Linux hosting options. VPS hosting starts as lows as $25 a month depending on your hosting needs and server location. Overall, hosting with this company is fairly inexpensive, especially since some of their plans break down to about $1 a month. This is pretty good pricing for what you get, and they have a bunch of additional features and upgrades depending on your hosting needs.
HostASP seeks to provide a high level of customer service and hosting plans available for their clientele. With datacenters all over the world, they seem to have a very large market, and quick searches on the internet show that they are a fairly reliable company. Pricing for their plans are very inexpensive, and also very flexible based on your needs. A 24×7 ticketing support system ensures quick resolutions to any customer concerns.
Frequent downtime and Technical Support does not reply to requests
My website has been down for a day now (this is not the first time!) and Technical Support does not answer any tickets. This company does not have a phone number to call so there are no live people. I can't even access the files through the Control Panel that HostASP provides. For all intents and purposes my website is GONE and I am paid for another 11 months!!!
At this point I would give them a ZERO on reliability and especially support!
