Typical BrainHost Prices
|Service||Monthly Price Range|
|Shared Hosting||$6.95 - $9.95||3 plans|
Brain Host are providers of 3 types of shared hosting plans, as well as other services which include domain registration and website builders. The main 3 plans on offer are an entry level plan, medium plan, and a higher scale plan. Value for money is something Brain Host take seriously as the entry level package comes in at $6.95 per month and provides a host of useful feature and tools, many of which have no limitations.
Daily spam and spyware scans are part of each hosting package, and an uptime guarantee of 99.9% is stated on the site. A UPS power generator, monitoring, site backups and cctv are all located in the data centre to provide an efficient and reliable infrastructure for its users.
Whether you are looking at strong support and contact details or plenty of space to host a site that is going to be heavy on storage, they have you covered. The entry level plan consists of unlimited domains, hosting, email accounts, and bandwidth, whilst the highest plan provides you with unlimited databases, 50+ one-lick installs and $125 marketing credits to help you get your site ranking well in Google.
Brain Host have a dedicated help centre but as soon as you get there its not what you would expect from a support area. Instead you will be offered a selection of ‘How-to’ style articles which are dated 2011, which gives you the impression they don’t update it.
Live chat is available on the site but not prominent so you will need to hunt around for links to it which appears on random pages. Other than that they do offer Twitter and Facebook links, a support ticket system, phone number but no email address.
Pricing is fantastic at Brain Host and they offer 3 plans which consist of a small, medium and large tiered plans. The cheapest plan falls in at $6.95 per month and rises up to $7.95 per month for the middle option, whilst the highest tier comes in at $9.95 per month.
Despite looking user-friendly it can be a pain to use, for example there is a live chat option on the site but you will find it hard to locate as it isn’t a prominent feature on the site. You will also be taken to a “domain registration/domain transfer” screen when you hit “this plan is for me”. The problem with this is that you don’t get to see payment options or the full feature list unless you pass this screen.
There are a lot of ups and downs with this service and it depends on what you really want to see as part of your package, to whether this host is right for you. Prices, features and tools are very good for those on a budget or small companies looking for a host provider. However you feel let down with the support offered and the usability.
Still, Brain Host do a good job of filling you with confidence as they seem a reliable and strong host to put your trust into.
