They make it a strong point to let people know that they own and operate their own hosting services and aren’t just a reseller like so many other companies out there today. They provide a lot of different hosting options for all sorts of sites. They have shared hosting, VPS and dedicated services available. The company also has servers in the UK, which is nice for many people.
From what I can tell, the hosting is quite stable. I haven’t found anyone who has used the service that complained of excessive down time. They don’t have any uptime guarantee, however, which will be a problem for some people. Overall, however, they seem to have a good quality data center and their servers seem to be made well so you won’t likely experience any extended outages.
The features offered by this company are all pretty nice. There doesn’t seem to be anything extraordinary that causes you to think that they are a really great hosting option. There is also nothing missing that most webmasters would want though, so that is nice.
At the entry level hosting options you get 3 gigs of disk space and unlimited traffic. This is more than enough for almost any type of site. The disk space goes up to 30 gigs for the highest end shared hosting solution. Other features included are email auto responders, mysql databases and much more. They use cPanel, which is the most popular control panel option. They also perform daily backups and manage DNS for you.
The support provided by this company is quite good. They are easy to get in touch with and respond fast when you’re having an issue. They have a phone number where you can call them and also a ticketing system within their members area. Their FAQ section does a good job at helping people to learn what they need to know about their services.
The pricing from Alpha Host is fairly standard. It starts out at 1.41 Euro per month, which is pretty normal. From there it goes up to 5.63 Euro per month for the highest level shared hosting solution. You can get a dedicated server for anywhere from 65 to 135 per month. Their dedicated servers aren’t the highest end but are clearly meant for mid-level sites that just need the extra control that is possible by using dedicated servers. You can get some discounts by paying every 6 months or every year.
This company provides a good hosting service at a fair price. There is really little else that you can ask for when looking for website hosting. They have been in business for long enough to know what they are doing, and have a pretty good reputation in the industry. If you are looking for a hosting service in Latvia, this could be the right choice for you.
