I find the story behind your company very interesting. Can you tell us the idea behind HostSlick, and how everything started?
The Story behind HostSlick is a very long one. It all started already in 2011 under another brand name, which is not anymore. I have purchased a 4€/month cPanel Reseller account and learning about Hosting, Linux, Servers, and all related a bit myself.
I used the Reseller account to re-sell Shared Hosting to forum users and quickly expanded it. Around September/October 2012 I have rented my first own Dedicated Server and also started offering VPS using rented Servers. Business kept growing, and we rapidly expanded.
In 2018 I started to invest large sums and money I made in all the years to launch my own ASN (AS208046), Network, and purchase our own Hardware we installed in The Netherlands.
All went according to plan and succeed.
Today we host hundreds of Dedicated Servers, a few thousand VPS (KVM and OpenVZ), and own all the hardware.
What are the core values that have driven HostSlick forward?
One of our success keys is that we offer custom solutions for each of our customers. Our customers are not just numbers for us.
We always find a solution.
Like we have one Business Customer we manage and host 2000 VPS for. The customer is very happy we can deliver everything for him and his business needs.

We focus on expanding in the Dedicated Server and Colocation market more.
Also would like to expand more into a market to offer custom IT Solutions as well as Support Services. For VPS customers we are planning Object Storage/Block Storage and VPS for large storage needs in future

Looking through the eye of the customer, what do you think is the most important thing for a hosting provider? What should every customer look at first?
In my opinion:
- Pricing (i.e not overpriced for the service you receive)
- Scalability (also will the provider offer solutions suited to your needs?)
- The provider should be reliable and offer for VPS minimum RAID1 to ensure Data integrity
What new features and technology are you planning to introduce in the next period?
As said before, we are planning to offer Storage VPS, and Object/Block Storage. ð
The hosting industry is changing, and many companies are introducing cryptocurrencies as payment methods these days. What is your opinion about this?
Cryptocurrencies are a great thing! They give more freedom and do not depend on politics.
Like we have customers from Russia who can’t pay (anymore – due to sanctions) with normal payment methods – are using now Bitcoin. I think everyone deserves the right to have access to free, uncensored information and the internet. I’m a bit against censoring.
We also offer all kinds of cryptocurrencies as payment methods: Litecoin, XMR, Bitcoin, Etherum, and some others.
Where do you see your company heading in the next five years?
In the next five years, we are looking to expand our client base, host more servers, add more products to the portfolio.
