Before the next help desk migration, consider whether years of solved problems could support an AI data license.
Picture a familiar migration night. The new help desk is live. Nine years of escalations, diagnostic notes and hard-won fixes are waiting in an export queue. The old platform has one job left: disappear.
You know what the client paid to store that history. Has anyone asked what a suitable part of it could earn?
SourceX gives MSPs a reason to raise the question: refer a company, earn up to $100,000. The reward depends on a qualifying paid data license and the program’s conditions. Your advantage is knowing which client has a history worth discussing before anyone starts an export.
Find the work hidden behind the storage bill
An outage ticket may connect the first symptom to a diagnostic check, an engineering issue and a confirmed repair. Together, those records explain how a team solved the problem. That context can support tasks for AI training or evaluation.
An export can preserve every message yet lose the relationships that make them useful. Changed case IDs, missing attachments and detached policies leave the next reader guessing. During migration planning, identify which links survive and which do not.
Preservation still follows the client’s retention requirements. A possible licensing opportunity never justifies keeping records the company must delete.

Keep the links that explain the repair.
Add one question to the client review
Ask: “Would you want an assessment of whether this operating history could qualify for AI data licensing?”
Promising companies generally had at least 50 full-time employees at peak, retain several years of records, operate in a supported location and hold suitable rights. A company that was acquired or wound down may also fit. Size starts the conversation; it does not establish value.
Add systems, years covered, linked workflows and the authorized company leader to your inventory. Get that leader’s permission for an introduction and disclose your potential reward. Leave credentials, exports and customer records out of the first conversation.
SourceX handles qualification, agreements, preparation and payout for approved collections. The company decides the scope and authorizes release.

Add business context to the migration inventory.
Know what makes the referral payable
The default reward is 25% of compensation SourceX actually pays the supplier, excluding separately itemized taxes and reimbursements. An illustrative $200,000 supplier payment produces a $50,000 reward. The cumulative cap is $100,000 per company; the reward is paid separately without reducing the client’s agreed compensation.
Buyer acceptance, cleared buyer funds, supplier payment, finance approval and your required payment details must be complete. A lead, meeting or signature alone does not earn a payable reward. Attribution rules and signed terms apply.
Secure partner-account approval and sign the required agreement before introducing anyone. Licensed professionals should check their referral-fee obligations.

Rewards follow qualifying supplier payments.
At your next migration review, pick the client whose operating history you understand best. With its leader’s permission, make the introduction through the SourceX referral program. Put the question on the agenda while the history can still be explained.
