There are too many outdated (and overloaded with useless text) guides online on installing Node.js on Ubuntu.

I decided to spend 5 minutes to write you a short effective guide that will save you time. Please share it if you appreciate the effort.

To install Node.js v4, open a terminal and type the following command:

curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_4.x | sudo -E bash -
sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

For Node.js v5, type:

curl -sL https://deb.nodesource.com/setup_5.x | sudo -E bash -
sudo apt-get install -y nodejs

Boy, was that easy or what :)    Click to tweet
