Element Critical is the leading provider of tailored data center services backed by solutions engineering expertise. Its Tier III facilities are hybrid IT-ready, network-rich, concurrently maintainable, and available in various deployment sizes and densities.

Its latest acquisition allows Element Critical to better meet its long-term client demand in the booming Austin data center market.

Austin One is located in the northern part of Austin, minutes away from the Austin Bergstrom Airport and above the flood zone. The data center currently houses over 60 enterprise customers on its 7-acre campus. Furthermore, the facility can sustain 7MW of critical IT load, claims Element Critical.

Element Critical plans to expand the facility further. It has already built a 2MW data hall, concurrently maintainable with N+1 redundancy. It additionally enables fully customizable power configurations to match any client deployment with its high-density rack support. According to its plans, the company will add 6 MW of additional utility capacity to Austin One over the next 1-2 years.

Ken Parent, who serves the role of a CEO of Element Critical, had this to say:

“Texas businesses are ready for evolved digital services. We are focused on establishing a strong foothold in the Austin market.  Together with our state-of-the-art Houston facility, we can support production and Disaster Recovery environments between the two urban centers from one platform.”

The Austin campus has an ideal location, at the heart of the Texas Triangle, comprised of the largest urban cities in the area. In turn, it delivers sub-10-millisecond latency to 70% of Texas via ten on-site carriers, which is ultra-low latency connectivity, says Element Critical.

The vXchnge Austin data center is part of Element Critical’s expansion strategy. The company has also acquired Skybox Datacenters’ Houston One data center in March. It has four other data centers; one in Sunnyvale, California, two in Chicago, Illinois, and another in Tyson’s Corner, Virginia.

The law firms of Greenberg Traurig and Shearman & Sterling advised Element Critical and its investors regarding this transaction.  In turn, Bank Street Group was vXchnge ‘s exclusive financial advisor. The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
