TEN STARS FOR THE OUTSTANDING TECHNICAL SUPPORT PROVIDED BY DANIEL TODAY. HE WALKED ME THROUGH A DETAILED PROCESS STEP-BY-STEP, EXPLICITLY AND PATIENTLY. I HAVE BEEN VERY HAPPY WITH HOSTWAY SINCE 2003, AND NOW I LIKE THEM EVE... More N MORE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THEM TO YOU. Less
Very good experience. No downtime in last 3 months.

I signed up with A Small Orange despite seeing many bitter reviews on the internet. I've been using ASO shared (small) plan for 3 months. Never experienced any issue with their service. I've monitored my website uptime with J... More etpack plugin of wordpress and tested speed, server response time regularly. Never experienced any downtime in last 3 months. Pingdom shows my website is faster than the 98% website. Actually, so far I'm very happy with their service.
It is true that their support ticket is very slow and they took almost two weeks to reply my ticket about registering a new domain. But I never had to wait more than 3 minutes to get live chat support. My ticket was solved instantly via live chat.
Another good thing about ASO is their server name and user area interface is very unique and user friendly.
Hope ASO will remain consistent with their good service. Best wishes for ASO team!

The worst provider I have ever dealt with. Tech support is terrible.

A customer of mine recently purchased web hosting services from Hostway, and it’s been a nightmare since the moment the purchase was made. The salesman repeatedly assured us that we would have Cpanel access, and it’s not even... More available. They assured we could install a shared SSL through them…..it turns out you can, so long as you email it to them every year and get them to install it. I don’t trust their ability to install it based on what I’ve seen so far though.
From the very moment we purchased an upgraded plan, we hadn’t even logged onto the site yet, they took down our original website and hosed our email settings. In the middle of the business day.
For several days I was unable to upload my index.html file, I had to send it to them and ask them to do it. The other files upload fine, just not the index file. At first they attempted to blame FileZilla for the problem, then finally got a workaround where I upload the file into my images folder, contact them, and they move it into the root directory. Not satisfactory, at all. I still am unable to edit my own htaccess file, and it doesn’t look like they care much about fixing that either.
This started last Friday, and today is Tuesday. I have spent literally hours on the phone and in chat with them trying to get this ironed out, and as of 5pm Tuesday it still is not fixed. It takes as long to explain the issue as it does for them to look through their documentation for an answer, because they are not even minimally competent with the technical workings of a server.
Maybe they do okay with Wordpress, I don’t know, but unless that’s your thing steer way way clear of this company.

They used to be excellent but are now dreadful

They used to be excellent but now they are terrible. For over a month their servers have gone down every two days. The chat staff are as helpful as they can be but they do not seem to be allowed to refer matters up the chain ... More to the senior managers. I cannot find out who the current CEO is and it is not there person you get when you Google the subject. If you press them on this they just say they will upgrade the support ticket. Every two days I have to get on the chat line to ask them to fix it. It am going mad with it. Less
