What is MediaWiki?

MediaWiki is basically a software by wiki which is totally free and open-source. It currently runs on many famous websites such as Wikipedia, Wiktionary and Wikimedia Commons. MediaWiki is written in PHP. Its function is to store the contents in a database. Of course, you’ll need VPS or dedicated server hosting to complete these instructions.

#1:When you are installing Mediawiki then you will be asked for the database credentials.  So, you have got to build a database for Mediawiki before it gets installed.

  • In cPanel, under the section of Database, find the MySQL Databases option and then click on it.
