Expert Overview
Diverse Hosting Options with One Major Issue
Trust Network 24 has been in business since 2006 offering hosting services, domain name registration and more. They have shared hosting, VPS solutions and dedicated servers available to their customers. Overall their actual hosting seems to be quite good. There is, however, one very significant problem. Their hosting appears to have been down for at least the last two to three months, and possibly longer.
On the main part of their front page it says, “News: Datacentre was raided – We are working on getting back online!” but they don’t really given any other details on what that means. I would assume they were raided by the government over tax issues as that seems the most likely, but it would be nice if they put out more information. Their Twitter feed’s last post was from November 15th, 2015 where they said that they are having technical difficulties and working on getting back to normal as soon as possible. At this time their hosting is still completely down.
To give them a fair review, unless I note otherwise, I’m trying to review the services based on when they were up and operational. Hopefully they will be able to get their issues straightened out soon. Of course, this major outage will impact things like their rating on reliability and other areas.
Uptime & Reliability
3+ Month Long Outage
As of this writing their hosting services have been down for almost three months with no estimate on when they will be back up and running. Prior to this issue they are facing they seemed to have a pretty stable environment. They offer a 99.9% uptime guarantee and a 99% stability guarantee (though it is not clear exactly what that means.). They also have anti-DDoS protection available to help you avoid hacker related downtime.
Features
Nice Hosting Features
You can choose from a variety of hosting options provided by this company. The shared hosting solutions have three packages to choose from, each of which is affordable yet still powerful enough to run most personal or small business sites. They start at 600 megs of disk space and it goes up to unlimited for the top end option. Bandwidth is 1 gig, 3 gigs or unlimited. The limits on the first two packages for bandwidth is really not nearly enough.
Go to the VPS page and you will see that they have five packages to pick from. They range from 20 to 650 gigs of disk space, 256mb to 15.9GB of RAM and unlimited bandwidth for options. If you want a dedicated server they will build it for you based on your specific specifications. They don’t offer any generic packages though, so it is hard to know what their price ranges will be.
Support
Not Enough Information
Due to the outage they are experiencing it is hard to evaluate the support they offer. They have obviously done a bad job at keeping their user’s sites up, which is unfortunate. Most of what I found on reviews or social media is the complaints about this outage so it is hard to find accurate evaluation of what you can expect once their services are back up and running.
Pricing
Careful with Pricing
This company has a wide range of price options. Many of their packages, especially their shared hosting packages and entry level VPS solutions are very affordable. When you get to their higher end VPS solutions, however, the price shoots up significantly to the point where it really isn’t even a good deal anymore. As mentioned before, the dedicated servers have no price base line, which can make it hard to budget before you get in touch with their sales team.
Summary
Reasonable Hosting Options`
The hosting with this company was once pretty good, though even then it had some issues. This ‘data center raid’ that has brought them down is a huge concern. Even once they get their situation resolved it will take some time to restore their reputation in the hosting industry.
Pros:
- Reasonable Prices at Entry Level
- Easy to Understand Packages
Cons:
- 3+ Month Outage
- High End Hosting is too Expensive
- Dedicated servers require a special order
