Expert and User Insights by Stablehost.com Customers
StableHost has carved out a solid reputation in the competitive web hosting industry. Their commitment to customer satisfaction, backed by strong customer reviews and industry awards, sets them apart as a top-tier hosting provider.
As an experienced web developer/website owner, I have reviewed hundreds of hosting providers. I stumbled on another popular and excellent hosting provider – StableHost. In this article, I evaluated its performance, speed, pricing packages, and customer support and compiled my unfeigned thoughts in this review.
Founded over a decade ago, StableHost offers a wide range of hosting services, from shared, VPS, and dedicated hosting to more specialized offerings like enterprise and unlimited web hosting. With additional features like security audits, VPN, Sitelock, and domain names, StableHost stands out for its reliability and top-notch customer support.
When it comes to customer reviews, StableHost shines brightly with a rating of 4.3 out of 5 from 23 reviews on HostAdvice and an impressive 4.9 out of 5 from 1,922 reviews on Trustpilot. These high ratings affirm the company’s commitment to customer satisfaction and service quality.
In my professional opinion, StableHost stands out as a top-notch hosting provider because it offers the ideal balance of dependability, flexible hosting options, and first-rate customer care, making it a top option for anyone looking for high-quality hosting services.

Finding the perfect web host for your website can be monotonous and even pricey. This is primarily because not all web hosts are suitable for all types of projects. For instance, a large-scale enterprise may require a web host with LiteSpeed servers; not all providers have this feature. Therefore, a comprehensive analysis of each web host is necessary to help you save time and cost.
At HostAdvise, our team of experts curated a web hosting rating guide that scores each host based on preset industry standards. We evaluate each host to give an accurate rating and why they are awarded the scores.

Why did we give this score
PRICES
9.0
StableHost has modest pricing plans. I discovered that they offer a 50% discount to first-time users on the shared hosting plan. Excellent! I gave them this score because their plans are flexible, and it’s easy to opt for the package that fits your project. You can even choose your preferred currency: USD, EUR, and KR (Swedish Krona).
FEATURES
9.0
You’ll get all the functionalities needed to build and scale your business online: MySQL databases, 1-click Apps with Softaculous, unlimited emails, etc. I gave them this score because they have almost all the required website creation and management tools in their arsenal.
PERFORMANCE
8.7
StableHost enterprise-grade SSD storage drives, unlimited bandwidth, fast page load times, VPU cores, and many more. The lowest plans come with a 99.99% uptime guarantee and moderate website loading speed…which is impressive. I gave them this score because I believe the speed can be improved.
USER FRIENDLINESS
8.5
StableHost has an intuitive UI, which is perfect for newbies with no technical experience. The control panel is the regular cPanel, which they claim will improve UX when using their platform. I gave them this score because other web hosts have a better and more attractive UI.
SUPPORT
9.0
StableHost offers four different support – email, phone, support ticket, and knowledgebase. The live chat is quite slow, but contacting them via email is faster. I gave them this score because their customer support team is reliable and professional.
StableHost Prices & Plans – 2024
StableHost offers various hosting plans – shared, VPS, reseller, dedicated, and WordPress hosting. In addition to these plans, they provide other services such as Sitebuilder plans, security audits, SSL certificates, etc.
Each of StableHost’s plans comes with a 45-day money-back guarantee, a free SSL certificate by Let’s Encrypt, 1-click installations of over 400 apps, free website transfer, and many more. Also, the renewal fees decrease when you opt for long-term commitments.
StableHost’s shared hosting starter, and pro plans come with a 50% discount for first-time users. From a beginner’s standpoint. I love how detailed StableHost’s pricing packages are. You can benefit from the full CPU cores, DDoS protection, Softaculous, unlimited disk space and bandwidth, spam filtering, a free site builder, and many more.
Now here’s the scary part all web hosts have. After one year, the price reverts to the original price, almost twice the starting price.
TipTip: StableHost recommends the Shared hosting starter plan for small business owners seeking to build a solid online presence. The platinum shared hosting plan is for more complex projects requiring advanced tools.
Who wouldn’t jump at enterprise-grade SSD drives, Litespeed caching with Virtuozzo and KVM technology? The VPS pricing plans may be slightly higher than other providers, but the features offered are worth the investment. The 1000 Mbit/s means your website will remain fast and stable even at peak traffic levels.
TipTip: The VZ 1GB plan is for small businesses or individuals who want a more streamlined and private plan to host their websites. The higher plans are for game servers or large enterprises expecting daily high traffic to their sites.
The professional plan comes with an intel Pentium processor, which is an excellent option if you’re just starting with dedicated hosting. Higher plans come with Intel Xeon processors, perfect for game servers like Minecraft or high-traffic sites.
TipTip: StableHost’s dedicated hosting plans are quite expensive compared to the other providers. But considering the hardware offerings, scalability, and robust security that come with them, I believe they’ll give the best value for your money.
Whether you’re just starting selling web hosting solutions, or you’re a pro with an already established clientele, you’ll find the right reseller package for you on StableHost. They recommend the Basic plan for newbies, and this comes with a 20 GB SSD storage space, Litespeed PHP caching for improved performance, daily automatic backups, and a website builder.
TipTip: If you’re still unsure of the right plan, contact the sales team to help you choose.
StableHost Hosting Features
Free SSL certificates and Cloudflare CDN
Unlimited databases, including MySQL
LiteSpeed cache
99.9 SLA access
Reliable uptime
One of the features that resonated well with me is the shared hosting plans. Not all web hosts provide unlimited disk space and bandwidth, free domain, free SSL certificates, SSH access, or even withstand up to 300k monthly visitors on a shared hosting plan. From a beginner’s standpoint, the smallest web hosting plan gives you all the features I need for building a solid online presence.
The features you’ll get on the higher plans will save you a fortune later. Each package comes with root access and SSH…not to mention the level 3 technical support assigned to you.
Another fantastic benefit is that, for an extra fee, you can get experts to manage the website on your VPS servers. This comes with VPS cPanel, 10 hours of management and support, troubleshooting email or basic script problems, and many more.

Like other providers, StableHost claims to be dedicated to providing reliable and scalable hosting solutions at an affordable price. But how true is this?
NoteNote: While these metrics outlined above are key factors to consider, ensure that the data centers of your web host are close to your audience’s location.StableHost’s data centers are located in the US, Netherlands, Sweden, Singapore, Spain, and Germany.
StableHost guarantees a 99.9% uptime for websites hosted on their platform. This means your business will be up and running at all times (except for moments of maintenance.)
I tested for speed and response time using GTMetrix. I used wwazman.com, a website hosted on StableHost, to verify their claims, and here are the results.
The website loaded quickly, taking 639 ms, still within the 3.21s average standard. This means a higher ranking and conversion rate for your website.
The TTFB (Time to the first byte) was impressive at 137 ms! This is because they recently replaced the Apache servers with LiteSpeed, which is almost 6X faster:
Overall, the performance is 98%, which is excellent:

StableHost offers all users four types of support: phone, email, support ticket, and knowledge base. Let’s discuss each in detail.
Phone
The customer support line is available for all regions. I was charged for the call, so expect call charges if you live outside the US. Although they didn’t specify this on their website:
Live Support ticket
StableHost shared that they’re experiencing a shortage in talent…so this feature might not be the fastest. I tested it anyway:
I love how they recommend articles and helpful guides for self-help. There’s a search box, so it’s easy to input any keyword to filter through the resources:
Perhaps, if you didn’t find what you’re looking for, there’s an automatic bot that collects your details and inquiry before referring you to any of their customer support team:
I decided to wait to check the response time. Finally, customer support personnel responded after 20 minutes. This is beyond their 4 minutes claim:
Email
StableHost has a unique email support system for different scenarios – sales, technical, and billing issues:
Knowledgebase
Do you prefer quick DIY solutions? StableHost’s library of resources has an article on any hassle you’ll face before and after opting for their services:
Mailing Address
I found this quite odd for the 21st century …but here’s their physical mailing address:
User Friendliness – Ease of Use
Registration
Creating an account on StableHost can get tiring. This is because they do a lot of evaluations to verify your identity. To register for their services, check the top right corner. Here, you’ll find the major hosting services they offer:
Once you’ve found the perfect package, click on the green button to order. You’ll be redirected to register a new domain. You can choose to transfer your domain if you’re currently hosting your website on another provider:
TipTip: The discounted rate is only for a long-term commitment. As the duration reduces, the discount also reduces. The lowest price, for instance, is billed for three years:
After checking out, I noticed StableHost added the AlphaSSL certificate to my cart. Suppose you don’t like the recommended add-ons; delete them. They have flexible payment options, too – PayPal, Credit cards, etc. Choose your billing format and click the ‘continue to check out’ button below:
Lastly, you’ll be asked to input your details to create an account:
As I shared previously, StableHost review each order to mitigate fraud on their platform. So expect a confirmation message like this:
StableHost Control Panel
StableHost uses the regular cPanel as its control panel. Once you log into your account, check the left-side menu and click cPanel. Here’s what it looks like:
I love StableHost UI; the design is clean and simple. The icons are neatly placed, making them easy to navigate. Overall, I found it intuitive and easy to use. But compared to other providers, I suggest they need an upgrade.
Installing WordPress on StableHost
To add an email account to your website with StableHost, log into your cPanel and locate the ‘Softaculous app installer.’ Then, click the ‘WordPress’ icon and then ‘install.’ You’ll get two installation options: quick and custom install. Click ‘custom install.’
Next, choose your preferred domain name for your WordPress account. Once done, fill in your admin details. Add your email, password, and username. For verification, you’ll be required to add an email at the bottom of the page:
Then, hit install. You’ll get a confirmation email after a few minutes.
Add an email account with StableHost
To add your email account, log onto the cPanel and click the ‘email’ icon. Then, click the ‘create’ button. By default, your domain appears but if you manage more than one domain, select the domain for the email you’re creating.
Next, add your username (the email name you intend to use) and password. Proceed to the storage section and choose your size – MB, GB, or TB. Once done, ‘click create.’
Do we recommend StableHost?
I was pretty impressed with StableHost during my evaluation of their services. The only thing I didn’t like is that they don’t offer fully managed web hosting services. Users without technical knowledge may find managing VPS and dedicated hosting plans challenging. And despite that they have excellent customer support, I firmly believe the response time needs to be improved.
I recommend StableHost to anyone looking for a web host with all-in-one website management tools. The 99.9% uptime, blazing speed, user-friendliness, and world-class technology are enough to compel anyone to opt-in for any of their services.

Reliable hosting but makes promises they can't keep!
Have been a customer for a few years and have never experienced anything negative during this period. The few times I have needed support, they have always been polite and quick to resolve any requests. Thank you Lina!
Update 2023-03-06 Today I received an invoice for a domain renewal, despite the promise from the above mentioned person of a year free with a domain transfer. According to their customer service, I have to pay if I want to keep my domain. Unfortunately it seems like they make promises they can't keep.
Reply to myself 2023-03-08. I was contacted by Lina who admitted their mistake and they actually gave me a full refund for the paid invoice regarding our domain.
My trust in StableHost is completely restored! 5 stars!
I’ve been with quite a few hosts over the years so had a good sample size of what to expect from hosts.
But these guys take the cake for the stupidest and most unprofessional and customer unfriendly services every.
Bunch of Wordpress Installs. One gets hacked (guess their automatic update didn’t work..). So ... their solution to this..
Isolate the offending URL, delete it and isolate the site and let me know the details?
That would make sense right?
But no...
Instead... they simply move my entire home directory to a restricted path, installing killing all my sites and then send me a generic support email saying that one of my sites had been hacked.
No details on which sites. No URL.
On top of this.... as if this wasnt incomprehensively stupid... they explain that I HAVE to rebuilt all my sites from scratch. Anyone who knows Wordpress knows that hours of work...
It gets worse... they specially tell me...NOT to move my files back to theroot public HTML folder (which would get everything back up and running so I could patch Wordpress and fix the security issue, ch age passwords, etc). They also add that is I do this and they find another instance of being hacked... they will issue me a fine.
Absolutely speechless.
The incompetency is beyond reproach.
I contact support and they tell me my sites got “Very Hacked”. Wow. Such a specific explanation.
Needless to say I’ll be leaving ASAP.
These kinds of experiences are ones that illustrate how and why to never EVER go anywhere near a company again. This entire episode clearly demonstrate that it’s all about $$$. There is nothing in this entire episode of web hosting incompetence that is, in any way, designed to support the client. It’s all about them protecting their ass and using the crudest method possible to fix an issue at the cost to the their own paying clients.
They clearly don’t care how they treat their customers. Not the stable host I joined years ago. Avoid at your own benefit. Fine a host that has enough intelligence to actually support you during a time of crisis, not one that abandons you and then proceeds to lock you up and threaten to fine you.
This is about stablehost. I have tried several web hosting in the past but this one has very pathetic customer support. I had an issue with my Cpanel, I tried contacting them. Their support service wasted my time and then I solved my problem with a simple Youtube Search. (My bad I know, I should have searched on Youtube before contacting them). The second time, I had an another issue with my addon domain. Their customer support is even unable to help me with that. They need more time. All of their customer support guys are outsourced , who have no idea how to deal with customers and solve their problem. I learnt my lesson "Cheap Hostings exist for a reason"
I've been using them for my own websites development and later moved my company's websites to Stablehost. Before that they have provided me with a great service, but something happened and their stability went down. I could understand it during coronavirus and networks being overloaded, but instead of trying to solve the issue or at least give reasonable answers, their new support, which is literally useless now, couldn't find anything else to tell me, than I need to optimize the images of my website. Fantastic! Some websites are loading like at modem speed, some are not working at all - and the support is telling you to optimize the images! After two days of chats and emails they have accepted, that something goes wrong with their server, but didn't fix it. So I'm moving to a new company. Funny, when I told their support about it - thy almost wished me good luck and didn't care about loosing the long-term client.
Was quite happy with my plan with stablehost until they decided to remove functions on Softaculous. No more backups there. Forced us to use R1Soft for backup—fine. Authentication doesn't even work. And back to Softaculous, they have issues with their MySQL database integration, which makes it impossible to clone websites. So Softaculous becomes simply a script installor on StableHost provided cPanel. Their server got so increasingly buggy that even simple 301 redirects on cPanel don't work. Funniest of all, I tried to purchase a new domain a few days ago, and their payment system didn't work—I had to get the domain from another company! Support is useless as they couldn't solve the root of these problems. Extremely bad experience. I'm changing host immediately even though I'm left with 2 years on the plan with them. Good thing it is not that expensive in the first place.
I have had a terrible experience with Stablehost. Their tech support is literally the worst I have ever worked with. The environment is terribly slow, so bad that I constantly received timeouts and the site wont work. After getting screwed around by tech support I am here to warn everybody not to waste your time and money with this company, literally the worst.
After the company was sold, stablehost become unstablehost. They changed the ticketing system, they changed your hosting account limitation, I was on Unlimited inodes platinum account but out of a sudden they changed my limit to 500,000 and blame me for break of Terms of Service without warning or notifications.
I tried to solve the problem by deleting email and moving some sites out of the hosting account to reduce the inodes limit. 3 emails but no reply from their side. I couldn't do cpanel backup, i couldn't access my hosting account. How do I reduce inodes if i couldn't use the platform.
Request support from live but was told to go to the email. Super useless support staff.
StableHost has gone completely downhill ever since it was sold to a foreign entity. DO NOT use them anymore. I was a huge supporter of them for years and it's horrible to see how slow the servers have become and how useless the staff are now.
Yes i can agree with you to some extend, they have removed their ticketing system and their chat support is confusing. And now i starting to face few downtimes here and there. Sad to see a very good host go down after its sales :( I will moving out of the host soon.
I agree. I loved them when I first signed up which was many years ago. They are terrible now. Constant email problems, websites sometime crash and their support system is awful. I had to move one of my clients to another host and before the year is up, I will move all of mine away. It's sad to see a once good company become less than mediocre
Agreed. They’re just not worth touching with a ten foot pole. They destroyed a bunch of sites I had with them, moving my root folder after they were compromised and told me not to move files back and instead to rebuild from scratch! THEY DO NOT CARE!!! A few years back they started adding plugins to my Wordpress installs to “speed up” my sites for their own benefit but this stopped them from working as they needed to stay dynamic and not statically cached which is what the plugin would do.
Now this. It’s just ridiculously stupid how they put themselves first before their clients and will screw your installs and not even provide adaquate support to resolve anything. Avoid avoid avoid.
I've been a Stablehost customer for 6 years and am going to move my services elsewhere as soon as I settle on a different host.
It has been mostly fine until the past 2 years or so, where I have been: - Told me I need to delete emails within 3 days or they will delete my client's data for me. (I use around 25Gb of emails at that time for all my accounts.) This is not listed as a limitation anywhere and was supposed to have 'unlimited.' - They have moved my server ~3 times and every time my jailed shell access that I paid for gets shut down. Minor annoyance that I have to contact them when I realize it is broken the next time I have to connect. - Was on the old pricing plan, and they lowered that by over 50% and didn't bother to tell me, so I was paying more for limited hosting. (versus unlimited) so they were taking extra money on a package that technically didn't exist anymore. - Continuously get false positive automatic tickets opened about how my site was hacked when I'm doing basic SSH tasks. - I have an uptime monitor and the sites that I host HAVE had decent problems in bursts on occasion. Going down for 10 minutes at a time maybe 5 times a week in a couple week period. - Have been denied doing full backups because my accounts meet their "hidden limitations" not advertised anywhere. (i.e. you cannot make a backup because your account is over 10Gb in size) - They have recently signed me up to spam mail advertising their other services, and despite clicking unsubscribe, I'm still getting them.
The good: - Support has been good enough, and quick most of the time. - pricing is still low compared to other cpanel hosts.
