Avoid this provider at all cost. We are a small non-profit Association that had our web site developed then hosted with RoseHosting. The site cost us about $3000. Once this site was installed we set up auto-pay and they continued ...Read Moreto bill us annually with no problems. When our credit card on file expired in January after the 3rd year of auto renewing; they sent automated email reminders which were not received on our side. We were advised by some of the association members in early February that our site was down. We followed up with Rose Hosting immediately and their billing and support said they had deleted all of our data and there was no way for us to pay a re-reinstatement fee to have our site and data restored. This was done on the 27th day of January. Also, they had made no effort to call or text us to notify us the billing had expired before deleting all of our data. In addition when we spoke to the billing support they were highly unprofessional. Your data is definitely not backed up or secure with this company and they do not have your best interest in mind.Less

We sent numerous emails to the customer notifying him that his account is unpaid. We have also temporarily suspended (shut down) his server after his invoice was 7 days overdue and sent him a notification about this as well. He did not notice his site being offline for over 20 days and simply ignored all the notifications. After his invoice was over 30 days overdue his server was terminated as scheduled. Even then it took him additional 20 days or so to notice that his site is offline and contact us. Usually important sites/systems are being monitored by a third party exactly to avoid such scenarios, but it seems they did not have any site monitoring that would notify them if their site was down.

Ms. Renee, signed up for a hosting plan and our automated billing system immediately flagged her order as fraudulent. This is a third-party automated fraud prevention system that uses AI to determine if an order is fraudulent usin...Read Moreg many different criteria, over which we have no control.

Because the order was flagged as fraud, her payment method was never billed and an account was never provisioned.

We explained all this to the customer numerous times, including the fact that her card was never charged. Our system is such that if an order is determined to be fraudulent the order and the invoice are immediately canceled and the card is never charged.

Ms. Renee, never really tried our services and we find it troubling that she would post a review of our services here when she, in fact, never tried our services.

The following is the entire email communication between the customer and our billing department (her email is edited out for privacy):

We are sorry but there is no additional information available regarding
this. Yes, unfortunately you cannot setup a hosting account with us at
this time. Again, we apologize for the inconvenience.

A receipt in hand, a charge on my credit card, and there is never a way to validate because sales is available, technical support is available but these departments have no authority to make any choices and they both point to the billing department which of course is located in a room with no windows, no phones but you can drop them an email and they will return it within 72 hours. Until they get this process fixed, do not hire this company. Its a shame to watch a good company like this burn like this but thats what happens with poor management. Mr. Santiago was a customer for a couple of years, during which he used different names for different accounts and had a history of spamming, flooding and other types of abuse towards other networks, which are all very well docume...Read Morented by all the abuse complaints we received from other network and server administrators.

We have frequently warned him of these TOS (Terms Of Service) violations and helped him resolve the issues as much as possible. He then canceled the service and a few months later signed up again and started spamming immediately, within the first hour of using our service.

Given his prior history of TOS violations and the fact that he basically signed up to start spamming immediately, we had no other choice but to terminate his account. His account was terminated within the first 12 hours and there was no new data that was uploaded, so there was not much that could have been lost.

Our customers know that we have the utmost respect for them and their data. But we also strive to keep our servers and network squeaky clean for any spamming or abuse.

RH does not have an user forum, the usual place to ask questions and receive just information, then take care of it yourself, and know what was done, how it was done and what else now should be done ...... With RoseHosting you will never learn - they just do it for you and tell you it is done -
Yes! This is my rant :)

Of course, some of the time after they 'just do it' things go wrong, un-forseen things get affected by the changes, but then they are there and happy to fix that too - yikes!

RoseHosting will make you a dependent junkie, addicted to their support :) but then some may just like that.

Dear RoseHosting, I think what James is missing is some kind of documentation about the actions you have done.
You may easily resolve this by recording your sessions with the `script` command (part of the linux utilities) or show...Read Moreterm ( https://showterm.io/ ), and providing these to your customers after the session.
This way the customer can both learn from you and verify your actions.

Note: Make sure you don't records passwords and other sensitive data.
