Point Action Services has been in business since 2001. The company is a full web services company that offers web hosting, merchant services, SEO tools, SSL certificates, domain registration, web design and more. When it comes to the web hosting, they only offer shared hosting packages.
The company itself seems to try to offer high quality services to as many customers as possible. They may not have VPS, Dedicated servers or things like that but they do have good quality shared hosting, which will meet the needs of most customers. As you browse through their website you will see that it is easy to use and looks great.
They did not have any type of uptime guarantee that I could find. Looking at the quality of their hosting, however, it is unlikely that you’ll have any issues. They offer good firewall protection, which includes DDoS protection. They also use good quality servers in a nice datacenter. When I looked through their social media pages and other locations to see what their customers were saying, nobody seemed to have issues with downtime.
There are four main hosting packages that you can choose from. The entry level option gives you 5 gigs of disk space and 100 gigs of bandwidth. They also limit you to 25 email accounts and 25 MySQL databases. Subdomains and addon domains are all unlimited with all their packages. When you move up to the higher level plans you’ll get 25 gigs of disk space and unlimited bandwidth, email accounts and databases.
You can also choose from addons to improve any of the hosting packages. A dedicated IP, for example is $5 per month. Shell access is also $5. Included in all the packages is automatic backups, cPanel, analytics, firewall security and one click installation of over 300 scripts.
The support with this company is quite good. They offer you an up to date server status page to check on the network and also have a good knowledge base to help you with any self-help you are interested in. The tech support teams are available 24/7 through a nice ticketing system.
The pricing with this company is slightly higher than you might expect to pay but not terrible. The basic hosting plan is $8 per month and the highest level option is $32. $32 is definitely more expensive than most companies charge for a shared hosting plan. If you pay annually, however, you can save 30% so that can save a little. Keep in mind that some addon features will cost more too.
If you’re looking for shared hosting services, this is not a bad option to consider. While they are expensive, they do seem to do a good job with all their services. If you’re looking for a full services web company so you can get hosting, design and more in one place, Point Action is a great option.
