I've been checking OVHcloud for a While now and Finally took a Dedicated Server. Uptill now, I haven't faced any issues and Outages. However, The promised time for provisioning was shown 120 seconds a...Read Morend I got provisioning after an hour which was nowhere mentioned. Support is Not responsive and takes around a day for reply and sometimes 3 days, However, One of their team members Harry contacted me for Purchasing the Server and uptill now, I've only contacted him regarding me Solutions and was satisfactory. Take a Note that OVH Call lines are too busy that it takes 20min to get them on the phone... I've Just used them for 10 days and so I cannot give more Insights... But till now, I am good that there is someone I can message if anything happens.... However, I thought the Response timings would be same like of Hetzner DC (30min) which I apparently left ordering servers due to its sudden price hike but overall its good! I don't know much about the cases of Bad reviews so no Comment on them...Less

Just had an email account blocked for sending 42 mails in one hour. It didn't like that Gmail uses load balancing so they didn't all come from the same email address. Tried to open a ticket but you can't any more. It just takes...Read More you through a multiple choice to a pushed sales upgrade. Can't find what the limits on email should be but remember 200/hour from years ago. BUT worst of all, no response to any requests for help. I haven't had a response in 3 years. If your email account has been blocked, it means that suspicious activity has been detected.
The blocking of the e-mail account in this type of case is a security measure.

On all of these tickets, you have had the information concerning the functioning of Public Cloud and the payment of the invoice.
The invoice for the service is normal, the invoice is due, as you have used the service.

You were also offered to create a complaint ticket if needed, as you are free to request this.

Cheap - and that's ok as long as there's no problems

Dedicated server user here. It's cheap, and as long as you know how to troubleshoot some stuff and everything works, it's great.

We had a dedicated server failing occasionally, and it took a total of 4 months and countless support tickets for them to finally take it seriously and diagnose the server. Turns out it was a faulty power supply. But that was numerous downtime events, many hours of me migrating services elsewhere, and writing to their support. The support is so unreliable that it's practically non-existent.

During this time I contacted sales, got an immediate reply. Now that I finally got the reply from someone in that company, I asked them about getting a partial refund for the faulty server, or partial refund for the additional server (rented to host the services while the main server was having problems) - but there was no reply from the sales representative after that.

We were hosting there since about 2015, and it seemed like a great expeirnece until about 2018. Lately, it's just an automated system and if you run into any issues where you'd need a real person, you're on your own. It seems that this is just an automated system that brings money to the owners, and they're not really investing into the company anymore.

We'll be moving to another provider when our commitment ends.

Sorry for the situation encountered on this server, a non-honest defect can sometimes have multiple causes and can require many investigations, sometimes the cause is quickly highlighted, sometimes if the server works perfectly for several days during the investigations it can be more complex.

I confirm that our complaints department responds to all requests and if the defect is confirmed and attributable to the service, a commercial gesture is offered.

They are one of the worst companies to deal with. I have registered with them over 20 domains because they were offering quick access to many European domains. Their support is completely incompetent - not able to read the request in the ticket and keep sending me back to other things and quickly going to close the ticket without solving the problem. After over a month now I am still trying to get a credit note on the charge for domains not registered. One other domain had no rules made clear about registration, and again no credit note for this one either, they took the money and nothing.. Deceptive Company - Go Elsewhere

Stood up a new VPS with this company based on turn up time, not prior reviews for a small local pool company. Within 10 minutes of the server being active, I begin to receive notices that the box has been compromised. At this poin...Read Moret, we've yet to even log into it. So, the password provided and created by OVH was compromised. We reset the instance, reinstalled, and we set a 32 character password: Within 10 minutes - here we go again with the box being compromised. After hours and hours of going through server logs and working with their less than helpfull support, I found nothing. Nothing at all. No Malware, No RootKit, No Virus, No access logs, nothing. Nothing at all. This goes on for months and months. Finally had enough when they began to shut the server off on their own. When I complained about that, they started adding random firewall rules to block traffic, and then blames us. Finally fed up, and threatened to take it to social media - they send us a disconnect notice.

Had issues with OVH since day .5

So happy to have left them and went with a real company based in the USA and not offshore.

Excellent 99.99% Uptime Guarantee

They offer a 99.99% uptime guarantee with a less than 5 minute response time guarantee in the event of a hardware failure.  This should give customers the confidence they need to know that their site will be up at all times.  The added guarantee of the 5 minute response time is nice because it shows that they are planning for those times when the unexpected happens.

The fact that the company uses RAID 10 configuration for their hard disks is also going to help keep sites up and stable.  Of course, this company designs their own world class data centers with redundant power, network and cooling systems so the facility itself will help to avoid any large scale outages.

Quality Features

OVH has many great features.  Their lowest hosting level is a regular or cloud based VPS solution.  It is priced in line with most companies shared hosting options, but you’ll have the added power of the VPS, which is nice.  The cloud VPS is slightly more expensive, but still a good deal.  There are several options within each category so you can get exactly what you need without paying extra.

They guarantee CPU power, starting with 2 vCores at the entry level and moving up to 8 for the highest level VPS.  You’ll also get guaranteed RAM availability starting with 2 gigs and moving up to 16.  The hard disk space is also very generous ranging from 25 to 200 gigs, all of which are in a RAID 10 configuration for added stability.

One really nice feature is that you can upgrade your hardware specs at any time without having to do any server transfers or things like that.  This helps to keep your website up and running while still giving you plenty of room to grow.

Good Tech Support

Their technical support is on site in their data centers and ready to help you when you need it.  The fact that they have a 5 minute response time for failed hardware is an example of the benefits of this company.  They are also skilled with what they do so they can answer any questions you have or provide help when you need it. They also have a forum and blog to help with ensuring you have the best possible hosting experience.
