NetBeat Expert Review 2021

Expert Overview
Germany Based Hosting since 1996
NetBeat has been in business since 1996 providing a variety of different services including web hosting, domain registration and more. They operate three data centers and have developed a good reputation as a hosting provider with pretty low prices. The company has a big focus on domain reselling as well, which some people may be interested in. Overall they seem to do a good job with what they offer and most people seem to be happy with the level of service they receive from NetBeta.
Uptime & Reliability
No Known Issues but Limited Guarantee
I didn't really find anyone who was complaining about the uptime with this company. The company is primarily operating in Germany, however, so most reviews would likely be in German so I couldn't find them with normal searches. They offer a 99% uptime guarantee, which is significantly lower than what most companies offer (99.9%). This is not necessarily an indication that you'll have trouble but just something to take note of.
Features
Some Concerns of Features
When you look through the features of their hosting packages you'll likely have some level of concern. First, the lowest level shared web hosting package says it comes with no disk space. This is because this is actually a redirect service. This type of service is rarely needed anymore so most people will want to immediately look past that one. even the next level, however, only has 5 megs and shared hosting only goes up as high as 1 gig for disk space.
There are also limits on databases and many other things throughout. Their 'virtual server' service, which is a VPS, has from .5 to 1.5 gigs of RAM, which isn't too bad. The disk space is much nicer at this level, ranging from 10 gigs to 50. You do have limits on the amount of traffic you can use though, so that can be an issue (the limits start at 25 gig and go do 100).
Finally, their dedicated servers are somewhat on the low end as far as server performance. They use Intel Celeron and Atom processors for the first two options. While they are decent processors, most people who want a dedicated server will want something more powerful. The high end does have an Intel Xeon, which is nice but there are only 4 cores (at all the levels).
Support
Tech Support Seems Good
The tech support with this company is available 24/7 and they seem to do a good job at getting issues fixed right away. You can use their phone number, email support (both of which are only responded to during business hours) or you can use their ticketing system, which is monitored 24/7. I didn't see any type of self-help information that would be helpful though, which is unfortunate.
Pricing
Decent Pricing
The prices with this company are pretty reasonable. You start out at .27 Euro per month for the entry level hosting (ignoring the redirect option) and it goes up to 4.99 per month. This pricing for shared hosting is pretty reasonable based on what you're getting. When you move up to the VPS or dedicated servers, however, they don't come out and tell you the price. Instead you have to 'request info' which is just a sales trick to get you to contact their sales team so they can try to talk you into buying. I'd much rather have them be up front about the pricing.
Summary
Decent Hosting with Some Concerns
Overall this hosting company is not the worst out there and they do have some good options. There are some concerns as well though so it is a good idea to take careful inventory of what you need and decide whether or not this company can provide that to you.
Pros:
- Been in Business since 1996
- Free IP Addresses
Cons:
- Unclear Pricing on VPS & Dedicated Hosting
- Only a 99% Uptime Guarantee
