During May, Miss Hosting:

  • Didn’t report any server issues.
  • Up to 84% off on all Web Hosting packages for the first year.
  • Up to 20% off on Cloud VPS.

Have you ever heard of Miss Hosting? It sure is one fancy name for web hosting. Furthermore, it’s part of Miss Group. But make no mistake, we are not talking about a pageant. Instead, it comes to a superior web-hosting-related services provider, and here’s why!

Note: Numerous companies are part of Miss Group alongside Miss Hosting, including but not limited to Stable Host, Miss Domain, Miss Affiliate, Website 24, Hostens, and many more.

Miss Hosting is an international web hosting company offering a range of affordable hosting-related services, including Web Hosting, Domain Registration, VPS, Dedicated Servers, Site Builder, Magento Hosting, SEO Hosting, Affiliate Hosting, Email Management and more.

The company was established in Stockholm, Sweden, in 2014. While it serves the global market, what makes Miss Hosting unique is its local presence in over ten countries. It has offices in the UK, USA, Canada, Mexico, Spain, Bulgaria, and India. The rest of the countries with a local presence include Norway, Finland, Hungary, Romania, Argentina, and Iran.

Sure, it’s a relatively new company. However, Miss Hosting has gathered a team of people with extensive experience and vast knowledge of the web hosting and domain industry. In turn, it wants to help individuals and businesses get started, build, and grow their business online quickly.

Miss Hosting has a clear vision: “Become the fastest growing shared Web Hosting company in the world from 0-100 000 customers.” My question is, will they succeed?

I always back my claims with proof. It’s just who I am. Today, I will test all that Miss Hosting provides, including features, support, and reliability, so that I can answer this complex yet exciting question.

Let’s dig right into it!

Getting Started with Miss Hosting

Is this even real? As soon as I visited Miss Hosting’s website, the provider welcomed me with an 82% discount on all web hosting packages during the first year. This sure might be my lucky day.

Furthermore, Web Hosting Professional, including a Free Sitebuilder, .com domain, and SSL certificate, came at 83% off. Web Hosting Ultimate with the Free Sitebuilder with eCommerce, SSL, .com domain, and SEO tool came at an 84% discount. Finally, Miss Hosting offered 20% off on its high-performance Cloud VPS and up to 80%  on any cloud server plan for 3-24 month billing cycles.

screenshot of Home page

Before I get into details, you can adjust the site language in the top right corner. Miss Hosting is available in Bulgarian, Danish, Finnish, Norwegian, Swedish, USA, and UK English.

language selection menu screenshot

Next to it (on the left), you can also choose euros or US dollars as currencies.

Currencies selection menu screenshot

At this point, you can instantly ask for support by email or phone if you don’t know where you are headed. However, I am here to give you some direction, so you might as well follow this review as a guide.

First things first, you can see what Miss Hosting has to offer in the Main Menu. Even though I mentioned the services earlier, here’s how it looks on the front end.

screenshot of Hosting menu

If you scroll a bit down on the home page, you will find additional benefits attached to the Shared Cloud Web Hosting plans, such as the Sitebuilder, Office365, or SSL.

screenshot of shared cloud web hosting solutions

Yet another superior quality is Miss Hosting’s wide range of over 650 unique domains.

domain selection page screenshot

Enough about that; I am eager to purchase. As always, I will go for a shared hosting plan. See, it allows me to test what each hosting provider offers at the minimum level (if you aren’t familiar with my work).

Miss Hosting offers three web hosting plans, Basic, Professional, and Ultimate.

screenshot of Shared hosting plans

All plans come with cPanel, free email addresses, one-click install of over 200 free applications, MySQL availability, 24/7 security monitoring and DDoS protection, 99.9% uptime guarantee, and 45 days money-back guarantee. And that’s not even where it ends!

Note: Payment for services must be made in advance and payment terms are 30 days.

The web hosting plans offer unlimited monthly bandwidth, DNS management, access without “www,” external domains, alias domains, Easy Application Installer, phpMyAdmin, Password Protected Directories, FTP over SSL (FTPS), Raw Access Logs, Site Statistics, 24/7 Phone/Email Support, Cron Jobs, File Manager, ImageMagick, 150+ Free Applications, Drupal, WordPress, Magento, PhpBB, PHP 4.4, 5.1, 5.2, 5.3, 5.4, 5.6, 7.0, 7.1, and PERL Language Support.

screenshot of general features

When it comes to the email features, you can find Webmail, POP 3 Accounts, SMTP, IMAP, Forwarding, Auto-Responder, Catch-All Email Address, Fraud, Virus & Spam Protection, Email privacy & protection with 256-Bit Encryption.

screenshot of Email features

The plans differ in the number of websites they support, disk space, MaxFiles (Inodes), Free SSL Certificate, FTP Users, My SQL, subdomains, total email storage, and the number of mail sent per hour.

screenshot of core features

Question: How do I upload my website using FTP?

Answer: When it comes to uploading via FTP, Miss Hosting recommends that its customers use a program called FileZilla, which you can download for free.

See, there’s a huge potential with Miss Hosting, even in the cheapest plan. So, I went with it.

Unfortunately, there’s not an option to purchase the plan for a month. The least you can go for is 24 months, which I must say, I find disappointing.

screenshot of billing time selection menu

Once you click on ‘Get Started,’ you will see the following screen. Here, you can choose to register a new domain, transfer or use an existing one. I usually use one for testing purposes, so I will use that one for Miss Hosting. The domain transfer is included for free.

screenshot of domain name selection menu

The second step, Review Order, lets you review the products in the cart. You can also choose a hosting location in Europe or the USA, select the payment method and apply a coupon code if you have one (I don’t).

screenshot of Review Order page

Next, you can log in or register to Miss Hosting. I don’t have an account, so I will go for the latter.

screenshot of login/signup page

Here, you need to enter your First Name, Last Name, Company (Optional), Organization Number/Personal Number, Email, Address, Zip Code, City, Country, State, Phone, Preferred Currency, Password, and answer ‘How did you find us’?

I had an issue with my Personal Number. I entered it a couple of times, but Miss Hosting simply refused to accept it as it is. So, I contacted its customer support via live chat.

Trust me when I say the registration process was a horror, even for me. Most probably, they had a temporary issue, or possibly one with compatibility with my country.

Either way, I will cover all conversations with their team via live chat and email in the support section, as my registration was mainly talking with agents.

Setting Things up at Miss Hosting

Welcome to Miss Hosting’s Client Area. It’s divided into five main sections, Home, Services, Domains,  Billing, and  Support. Also, you can set up Google Ads here.

screenshot of the dashboard

In the Home tab, you can find your Invoiced Due, Services, Domains, and Support Tickets. Clicking on each of these will redirect you to the appropriate tab in the Menu. You can also register a new domain, find shortcuts and recent news.

Services are divided into My Services, Order New Services, and View Available Addons.

screenshot of Services droplist menu

First things first, My Products & Services grants you a comprehensive view of your Product/Service, Pricing, Next Due Date, Status, and SSL Status.

As you can see, I don’t have an SSL, as I haven’t set it up yet (in the cPanel). So, let’s get to work.

screenshot of My Products & Services tab

If you click on Manage, you will get to the following screen.

screenshot of Product Details

Here, you can check your Usage Statistics, access Quick Shortcuts, or create an email account. Also, if you scroll a bit down, you will get to the billing overview.

On the right, you can find the options to log in to cPanel or Webmail, upgrade, downgrade or cancel your service.

The cPanel is everything you can expect from a user-friendly web hosting services provider.

screenshot of cPanel welcome page

It starts with Services, which is a bit unique. I am usually used to seeing Email first. Nonetheless, here, you can find Site Builder, 24 Seven Office, SEO Tools, Google Ads, Support Portal, Newsletter, Microsoft Teams, Office 365, Sitelock, VPN Security Audit, and Snabbare WordPress.

screenshot of Services tab

As always, the Email section is the largest one. Here, you can access Email Accounts, Forwarders, Email Routing, Autoresponders, Default Addresses, Mailing Lists, Track Deliver, Global Email Filters. Also, check Email Deliverability, Address Importer, Spam Filters, Encryption, Calendars and Contacts, Email Disk Usage, and Halon Anti-spam.

screenshot of Email tab

You can Manage your profile, Upgrade/Downgrade, Manage and View Billing Information, View Email or Invoice History, Check Network Status, Register and Transfer a Domain in Billing & Support.

screenshot of Billing & Support tab

Files cover File Manager, Images, Directory Privacy, Disk Usage, Web Disk, FTP Accounts, Backup, Backup Wizard, Git Version Control, File and Directory Restoration, and R1Soft Restore Backups.

screenshot of Files tab

Databases consist of phpMyAdmin, MySQL Databases and the Wizard, and Remote MySQL.

screenshot of Databases tab

Domains, Addon, Subdomains, Aliases, Redirects, Zone Editor, and Dynamic DNS are all part of the Domains section.

screenshot of Domains tab

Metrics cover Visitors, Errors, Bandwidth, Awstats, Analog Stats, Webalizer, Webalizer FTP, Metrics Editor, and Resource Usage.

screenshot of Metrics tab

Security includes IP Blocker, SSL/TLS and Status, Manage API Tokens, Hotlink, and Leech Protection, ModSecurity, Two-Factor Authentication, and Let’s Encrypt SSL.

screenshot of Security tab

WordPress Manager by Miss Hosting, Optimize Website, Softaculous Apps Installer, and Select PHP Version is part of Software.

screenshot of Software tab

Advanced covers Cron Jobs, Track DNS, Indexes, Error Pages, MIME Types, and Virus Scanner.

screenshot of Advanced tab

In Preferences, you can modify Password & Security, Change Language, Contact Information and User Manager.

screenshot of Preferences tab

Scripts consist of WordPress, Joomla, AbanteCart, phpBB, SMF, WHMCS, Open Real Estate, MyBB, Dolphin, pH7CMS, Laravel, OpenCart, Concrete CMS, and ClipBucket.

Blogs, Portals/CMS, Forums, Image Galleries, Wikis, Social Networking, Ad Management, Calendars, Gaming, Mails, Polls and Analytics, Project Management, E-Commerce, ERP, Guest Books, Customer Support, Frameworks, Educational, DB Tools, Music, Video, RSS, File Management, Others, and Libraries are all part of Categories.

screenshot of Softaculous apps installer tab

That’s more or less all about the Home section within the cPanel. Right underneath it (on the left of the screen), you can find the User Manager. Here, you can manage subaccounts.

Keep in mind that your cPanel account and password differ from the Miss Hosting credentials. Once you register, Miss Hosting will send this information via email, so that you can log in to the cPanel in the future.

screenshot of User Manager tab

You can access your cPanel Account Preferences, Password and Security, Language, Contact and Billing information, Upgrade/Downgrade or Reset Page Settings in the top right corner of the page.

screenshot of cPanel Preferences droplist menu

Back to the Menu, you can find other hosting plans under Order New Services.

screenshot of Order new services page

Then, you can renew your domain, register a new one, or transfer in the Domains tab. You can also manage DNS here.

screenshot of My Domains page

The Billing section covers your invoices, quotes, and payment methods.

screenshot of My Quotes page

Support is divided into Announcements, Knowledgebase, Downloads, and Network Status.

screenshot of News page

Essentially, the Knowledgebase transfers you to the FAQ section.

The Network Status displays a real-time overview of Miss Hosting servers to check if there are any known issues.

screenshot of Network Status page

Finally, you can find Setup Google Ads. If you click on it, Miss Hosting will deliver you a comprehensive guide for the process, which you can follow step by step.

screenshot of Google Ads page

Performance, Speed, and Uptime

Miss Hosting provides a 99.9% uptime guarantee on all plans. During the testing period, the provider proved as a pretty reliable one. So, whether you have a blog, website, or an eCommerce store, you can rest assured, your website will not go down.

Note: If you experience extensive disruption, Miss Hosting will compensate you for the experienced downtime. It will compensate you by giving you a free extension of service.

It’s not only me with this opinion. Take a look at what other users are saying – it seems very likely not to experience any unexpected downtime with Miss Hosting.

Miss Hosting has three data centers in Chicago, USA, Sweden, Stockholm, and Sao Paulo, Brazil.

screenshot of Data Centers map

It uses brand-name hardware exclusively. I am talking about familiar brands such as Juniper and Dell Networking. Furthermore, its network is built around a proprietary infrastructure with Edge.

Miss Hosting houses everything on data centers with redundant power and network connections. It has two wholly separated power supply systems and two standby power Generators. Its facilities are fully redundant with separate A-and B-force.

At last, Miss Hosting’s data centers offer maximum security against Tapping, Industrial Espionage, and other infringements upon freedom and privacy.

See, I am talking so extensively about the data centers because your website speed and stability essentially depend on the location of your hosting data center. So, you can rest assured, Miss Hosting has the highest standards on all data center facility aspects.

One feature I like in this regard is Miss Hosting’s Network Status. At any point in time, you can check whether your website is up and running. As you can see, network disturbances are not that often with Miss Group and its subsidiaries.

screenshot of Network status page

Level of Support at Miss Hosting

As mentioned earlier, I had an issue with the registration process on Miss Hosting. More precisely, the company didn’t accept my Personal Number, coloring the square red. Consequently, I couldn’t proceed with the registration. So, I went for the live chat option.

I immediately got a response in under a minute. Here’s how the conversation went.

screenshot of Live Chat (start conversation)

I asked the agent whether there’s an issue with the format and shared my number so that she can check.  She further explained what the ID number is. The problem is, I am well aware of what my ID is and where to find it. However, they seem to have an issue with their system.

screenshot of Live Chat (continued conversation)

I also suggested sending a picture from my ID card for verification. Still, we didn’t come to any agreement. Instead, the live chat agent redirected me to their ticketing system.

screenshot of Live Chat (end of conversation)

Here’s what I wrote. And now we wait.

screenshot of a Ticket support message

It’s been over an hour, and I didn’t receive a response to the email. I was frustrated. So, once again, I went for the live chat option. This time, I got another agent. At first, he didn’t quite get the issue, but he provided me a solution after our discussion. I used another link to register to Miss Hosting. Nonetheless, it was successful, and that’s all that matters at this point.

screenshot of a Live Chat

I filled in the required information in the following form.

screenshot of a Register page

However, as I used another approach, I have lost the service. So, I clicked on Services in the Menu on the left side of the screen.

screenshot of My Products & Services page

Next, Place a New Order under Actions, and select the first option (Basic Plan).

screenshot of a Shoping Cart

Follow the steps as given, enter all required information, and you will be good to go. At last, I am back on track with the registration.

See, I am a bit uncertain of the quality of Miss Hosting’s customer support. They offer phone support in both US and Europe, live chat, and email. While the live chat team was super-responsive (at first not so helpful), I cannot say the same for the email support.

screenshot of Support page

Miss Hosting also offers a FAQ section, which you can access from the footer. It provides a bunch of articles in different languages, which can benefit customers worldwide.

Note: And if you want to keep up with recent news about Miss Hosting, you can do so by visiting its blog which you can find on the footer of its website.

screenshot of FAQ section

Security and Backups

Miss Hosting is serious regarding security features, offering a wide array of add-ons for full-stack web security.

screenshot of a Security page

First, Miss Hosting offers four different SSL certificates, Comodo Standard Certificate, Comodo Wildcard Certificate, Comodo EV Certificate, and Comodo Multi-Domain.

If you purchase an SSL with Miss Hosting, you will get secure and encrypted data for your site, being essential for online shops. Furthermore, they will grant you a green key lock so that all your visitors can feel safe. At last, your visitors will use HTTPS instead of HTTP format.

screenshot of a SSL Certificates

I have to say; I was a bit confused at this point. Are the SSL certificates free or not?

Miss Hosting provides a free Let’s Encrypt SSL in all of its plans. However, you’ll get access to it as soon as you log in to the cPanel. So, worry not, you’ll get your protection, and then, you can choose to upgrade further if you feel the need to do so.

Next, in Security, you can get a Managed Server which allows for completely customized hosting services managed at their end. This product comes with a custom setup, 24/7 surveillance, multichannel support, and 100% updated software.

Miss Hosting can help you customize your name servers, Apache settings, PHP settings, IIS settings, .NET, and set up an SSL. Better yet, they install extra firewall security to protect your website from hacks, spam, or DDoS attacks.

screenshot of a Managed Server Services page

Bitninja allows for advanced server security for cloud, virtual and physical deployments. It’s a comprehensive set of tools that keeps malware, DDoS, spam, XSS, script injection, enumeration, brute force, automated attacks, and virus attacks at bay. Furthermore, it can tell whether your site is subject to a false or a real attack.

screenshot of a features

Patchman VPS provides for automated vulnerability patching and malware removal. It’s easy to set up and configure, allows for rolling back changes, and automates your workflow. Furthermore, it supports and integrates with cPanel, Plesk, and DA.

screenshot of protection features

You can also go for a Patchman Dedicated Server.

Finally, Miss Hosting offers the R1 Soft, the best-of-breed, customizable server backup manager. It provides for multiple ways of restoring backed-up data, such as granular and complete restoration. You can use it on Microsoft Windows, Linux, and custom OS installations.

The R1 Soft comes with AES-256 encryption, a customized data backup facility for multiple customers, disaster recovery, and totally customized data recovery.

screenshot of a R1 soft tool

Last but not least, Miss Hosting provides for SiteLock Website Security. You can find three plans, Secure Web, Secure Web Plus, and Emergency Clean. While the first two are recurring plans, the third one is a one-time purchase.

screenshot of a security page

SiteLock offers:

  • Malware Scanning
  • Vulnerability Scanning
  • Predictive Risk Score
  • Malware Removal
  • Vulnerability Remediation
  • CDN
  • WAF
  • DDoS Protection

screenshot of a Sitelock features

In turn, you can ensure your customers that your website is a safe environment and prevent hackers from accessing your data.

The Web Application Firewall (WAF) protects your website apps from cyber threats and harmful traffic, including OWASP’s top 10 threats that penetrate websites across the globe. The CDN, in turn, adds benefits such as improved SEO rankings, increased website speeds, and reduced bandwidth consumption.

All SiteLock features combined account for improved performance and customer experience.

Note: Your website can benefit greatly from the numerous security features and measures that Miss Hosting offers, as your website will be ranked higher than other websites that do not have the same high-security level as yours.

Specific Features of Miss Hosting

Miss Hosting is an excellent choice, whether you are a small or a relatively large company. It’s part of Miss Group, a well-established brand on the market for decades. So, it’s only fair it has an incredible reputation. Better yet, it has the features to back this claim.

First, I especially like the simplicity of Miss Hosting. Even as a beginner, you can easily find anything you need and navigate through the site. If you encounter an issue, there will always be someone to assist you. All you need to do is open the live chat window in the bottom right corner, and you’ll be good to go. You can also use phone support, email, or the Knowledgebase/FAQ.

Next, I like the company’s dedication to privacy and security. Miss Hosting offers many security-enhancing add-ons and performs backups each night to protect its users from data loss. If something happens to their website information, customers can restore the files from the previous night, which is excellent.

Now, while the provider allows for substantial discounts at your first purchase (making their plans incredibly affordable), there are many hidden fees. The prices increase at renewal. And it’s not only that but also the paid add-ons. Essentially, you need to pay for lots of features. In turn, if you sum everything up, Miss Hosting might come out a bit pricey. At last, they don’t offer monthly payments for the web hosting plans. You can either go for an annual plan or more, but not a shorter period.

Miss Hosting pros

  • User-Friendly; Easy To Use
  • Real People Answering In Real-Time
  • Lots Of Available Add-Ons
  • Superior Security Features
  • Excellent Uptime And Speed
  • Trusted Provider With A Great Reputation
  • Substantial First-Time Discounts

Miss Hosting cons

  • No Monthly Web Hosting Plans
  • Prices Increase At Renewal
  • Not Many Freebies Included
