I recommend them to people all the time. No one has ever come back to me with complaint. I love these guys! I will say though, I have noticed that the last two times I have contacted them they were a little less forthcoming with help that wasn't directly MacHighway (Wordpress.) I was disappointed when a (female) support person said, "I'll help you with this time, but we really only offer MacHighway support." Yea, I get it, and I understand, but I don't have to like it.Less

Gone way downhill

It seems unless you are only looking for something simple and never need tech help then Mac Highway isnt for you. If you actually need a hosting plan and company with real tech help and customer support no longer bother with Mac H...Read Moreighway. Ever since they were sold its really been a struggle to get issues resolved.

I've been a client of MH for many years and when they were smaller they cared more. They were so very helpful any time we had any questions at all and our issues were often resolved within a day or so. Now its been days and two of my quite real issues are still unresolved and it also seems like they try to do everything in their power to either place the blame on the client or pass it off onto a 3rd party. One issue was faulty billing (they blamed me) - I receive the reminders and invoices and pay them in full immediately as I am reminded but somehow one service was not sent and I didnt realize I was paying for a service I had not used ever - in fact its associated domain had expired 3 years earlier. They blamed me for not using their reminder to pay to cancel service when I explained I only received reminder notices on all the rest of my services but this one. I dont even see how thats possible,.

Another issue is I purchased another domain name last week and ever since my cell phone, email and texting have been non stop bombarded with spammers and sales callers. I have purchased several domains over the years with several companies and this is a first. Its literally all night and all day 7 days a week. Annoying and rude. Of course no call from MH even though I requested one.

Another current issue is that I decided to try their trial free offer to use Weebly on my new domain which I wished to be a sub domain to another site. Someone did manage to assist me with that - attaching the two - (Tim I believe) and he was quick to help and very polite and patient - however when the graphics didnt show up - again the blame was placed upon me or weebly - all I did was follow their articles on how to use the software. When I wrote about the problem again someone overnight (Silvester) made changes which did make those graphics appear - however - he also covered up our original site and only 3 of the pages worked on the new one which wasnt to be public just yet. It took until last night for Zack to help me put up the SITE DOWN page. Now I am stuck. I cannot update either site. It says - access denied. AND still not a word from anyone for over 24 hours on that ticket.

Only a couple people have been any real help this week and at least helped me to get a SITE DOWN page placed on our still not operable website. My list of issues is too long to list here but I am working on migrating all domains and hosted sites elsewhere even if it costs me more. Its sad because they really did used to be the perfect solution for all of our needs. I will really miss working with them but those days are long gone since the sale....I am not worth their resources it seems. I must be too time consuming and it seems they prefer soccer mom with her cupcake recipe page.

Just understand your needs and if too complicated go elsewhere. I am sorry to have to post a non positive review. Normally I review places I like. This time its a company I used to like.

This does not sound like a good experience at all and I apologize for that. If you reopen your ticket with a good time to reach you we will contact you via phone to go over your issues and concerns. Again, I do apologize for the troubles and inconveniences.
SO I did as requested and reopened the ticket - asked for help - received none. The support techs gave me the runaround and never resolved my many issues - so I left.

Now they refuse to refund my pre paid account money. Its onl...Read Morey due to poor customer service and all the above issues why I left. It was a huge PIA so not something I wanted to do but their quality and level of support forced it.

MH no longer allows users to post on their FB page since the sale of the company - My guess is that the page would be too full of complaints - They are quite happy to steal peoples money and feel good about how they operate a business. THIS is why we left! After many years of excellent customer service and support they now care only about the money. All other companies refund in full or partially unused credits on pre-paid hosting packages - only MH doesn't. THIS is not good business - no timely replies on email or tickets - yet the money gets taken quickly doesnt it. I've been trying to cancel all my services for 3 weeks - still pending....I pre paid in hopes things would get better - they are worse than ever - I left and moved all domains and sites and am quite happy now except I lost a BUNCH of pre paid payments on their table...seems they prefer online complaints to happy customers. Maybe had they been more attentive to long time customers they would not have lost so excellent ones - all they want are those who use very little of their time, easy customers who dont really need much so they just take the money and do no work....Shame MH!

AVOID. Worst ever

Go with anyone else. The server is ALWAYS down. My website and email cannot be accessed. I am trying to run a business and losing money! I sent two emails and have had no response. Have they shut down and left the country?

I suspect MacHighway will pass as well because they are terrible now. Stay away. Run away screaming in fact.

Terrible Level 2 support

on Feb 28 2017 at 6PM got a message Security certificate expired. Finally gave up and cancelled service.

Tried to remove Email Address from My iPad but couldn't because the address was installed by a script and the address was marked in some manner and therefore preventing me from deleting

I still can't understand why the problem was not resolved, as it was caused by an "expired security certificate". I am still having to change my email address on websites and some sites take as 20 minutes.

Terrible Service Tech support

Initially very good, but in 2015 I began to have issues. email down, slow etc. Then my sites were hacked. They were of no help, tech support took days to resolve if at all. Finally left and I'm thrilled with GoDaddy. Great tech support, instant chat and easy to set up.

Poor reliability and customer service - a good company gone bad

I had originally signed up with this company back when they were Itsamac and Chris and Tyler were running it as a local (Denver) company. Was a really good company. Last year it was sold and while they didn't inform customers (and...Read More Chris and Tyler's name are still on their site "about the company" although they left.) I found out soon afterwards because our website and email switched servers and started having all sorts of problems. We moved our website elsewhere but decided to leave email with MacHighway, so that if we had a problem with new web host at least email wouldn't be impacted. Initially we had lost emails/outages once a month or so. Then in late October they began to have major issues with our server where email was out days (or even weeks) at a time. Might come back for a few hours and then would go down again. While they brought back some phone service, the reality is that the Tier one workers who respond to calls either know nothing or have no access to do anything. So took multiple tickets to hear they were having a series of DDOS attacks (which another customer service person denied). Either way, every contact I was told things would be up and running in a day or two and never happened. After two weeks, as this is business account and we were having serious customer issues, I decided to move to another host. Then I found out that the back up function in c-panel has been disabled and only they can back up email files. Since we had multiple employee accounts in email and I didn't want to go through the hassle of getting everyone to manually transfer their own account, I requested a backup file. A week later (and some nudging phone calls) I finally got one except they set it up with wrong permissions so that no one other than the person who created the file could download it. I immediately put in another ticket. After several days no response I had a friend who works in IT go into my account and copy the problematic code, write the correct permission code and submit that with ticket. A week later, still not hearing back (and now we were nearly four weeks without reliable or consistent email), I called and got a helpful Tier One person who was quite shocked that my ticket was being essentially ignored, and said he'd put in a nudge. (Tier one responders are generally quite nice but doesn't do much good.) Days passed and still no reply so I took the 12 hours to have our entire staff do manual transfer, and got our emails out of there. A few days later (and two weeks after request) they did take the 5 seconds to change the code so we could download this now very dated and useless backup file. I have put in a call to request a refund as we had pre-paid for service we no longer want and as they violated their contract in terms of terrible reliability, lack of communication and lack of responsiveness to my ticket. Between lost customer revenue and lost employee time having to do manual transfer, we were out ten times the money we were asking to be refunded, fyi. (They supposedly get back to tickets in 24 hours, but my general turn around time was one to two weeks.) They said they'd put in a special request to do a very partial refund (i.e. return one third of unused time) although I haven't seen it come through and our account is actually still open though I put in a request to close it a week ago. So sad that this formerly excellent company has gone down the tubes with new management.Less
