They really don’t provide too much information about their up-time and reliability.  I didn’t see any type of up-time guarantee or even too much information on their datacenter hardware.  They do partner with cPanel and Intel, which will indicate a good quality system.  They don’t, however, give too much information beyond that.  I looked through other user reviews and social media and didn’t find anything complaining about downtime, which is a good sign.  Most people will likely be satisfied with the reliability of their hosting.

Mostly Standard Features

When looking at their web hosting services you will see that they have mostly standard options when it comes to VPS and dedicated servers.  You can start as low as 150 megs of disk space, which is enough for some small sites.  From there, you can go up to 10 gigs and beyond so they can handle most any type of site.  For bandwidth, you will have a minimum of 1 gig and that can go up to 70 gigs for their normal hosting packages.  There are some other limitations such as addon domains, which are limited to 0-5 based on which package you choose, up to the 3 gig package, which comes with unlimited addons. 

In addition to their web hosting services you can also use this company for domain registration, email hosting, web application development, website development and more.  This really can be a full service IT company for many business, which is a nice option.  Even for those who just want hosting, however, their services are fairly nice.

They have good tech support available 24/7 so if you run into any type of trouble they can get to work on it right away.  You can get in touch with them through email, phone and other methods without a problem, which is quite nice.  I didn’t see any type of FAQ or knowledgebase though, so you won’t be able to use them for self-help efforts.

Good Pricing

They do their pricing annually, which some people will like and others won’t.  The prices are quite inexpensive compared to most other hosting providers.  For their entry level option it is just $12 per year, which is a great deal.  As it goes up, the prices remain quite low. For their highest end VPS it is just $230 per year.  Some of their other services seem to be a bit overpriced, but if you’re just looking for hosting, it really isn’t a bad deal at all.  

When it comes to dedicated servers, you need to submit a request to the sales team to get a price.  They will custom build your server, which gives you good flexibility.  Unfortunately, it will also take longer to get setup and ready to go so if you’re in a hurry, this may not be the right company for you. 

Summary

Quality Hosting with a Conscience

The biggest thing that sets this company apart from most others is their ‘social justice’ perks.  If you use their hosting, they will plant a tree and donate 5% of their profits to poor children.  They are also a ‘green hosting’ provider, which is good for the environment.  When it comes to their actual hosting, however, there really isn’t too much that makes them a great choice.  They seem to offer a good service, but it doesn’t stand out from the competition in any real way.  The prices are good but not amazingly good.
