They are focused on providing unmanaged dedicated servers in an offshore location (though they do also have some managed options). This is a nice option for larger companies that have their own IT team to manage the actual sites, but not the hardware. It is also nice for anyone who wants a server that is not in the same country as them for redundancy or other needs. The data center where these servers will be located is in the Republic of Seychelles, which is a good location for this type of thing.
The company has been around for 8 years and have done a good job at building a loyal customer base. The services they provide are easy to use and affordable based on what you’re getting. If you’re looking for this very specific type of hosting, you won’t find an option that is much better than this. If you’re just looking for hosting for a normal website, however, this company is not right for you.
The data center is top of the line and has redundant power and network connections so you won’t likely experience any outages related to that. They use high quality, name brand hardware to keep your servers up and running. Should there be a hardware failure, they will have it replaced quickly to minimize any downtime. One thing I think they should offer to help further improve stability is the RAID hard disk configuration or even SSD drives, but they don’t. Like many unmanaged hosting companies, they don’t seem to offer an uptime guarantee.
When it comes to features for dedicated servers the most importnat thing is going to be the hardware that you’re getting. This company uses high quality Intel hardware from Dell. They have quite a few packages avaialble plus you can build your own to get exactly what you want. The lowest level server has an Intel Xeon E3-1241 v3 3.5GHz CPU with 8M cache and 8 threads. This is a nice CPU and more than enough for most mid level sites. It also has 8 gigs of RAM, which is very nice. For disk space you’ll get a 10 TB hard drive. Finally, you’ll have a 1000MBPS network connection.
As you move up to the highest level pre-built server you get 2 Intel Xeon E5-2440 v2 CPUs at 1.9GHz, 20M cache, 16 cores and 32 threads. RAM bumps up to 16 gigs and you’ll get a 3TB SATA drive. For the custom package you can essentially select any configuration of hardware that you’ll need. You’ll also have the option to have a faster network connection (100MBPS, 1GBPS or 10GBPS).
Of course, for the OS and other software you can select and install anything that you would like. You’ll have full control over the actual server, which is one nice thing about unmanaged hardware.
With unmanaged servers the only thing the tech support team is there for is to replace or repair hardware should it go bad. They are quite responsive in this area from what I can see so you won’t have any issues. If you do opt for a managed hosting experience, the tech teams also seem to be pretty good with that as well, though there is less information about it than I would like. I didn’t see any type of blog or knowledge base or anything like that, which is not surprising given the focus on unmanaged hosting.
The pricing with this company is surprisingly low. Of course, it is more than shared hosting or anything like that, but you’ll be happy with the total bill each month. For the entry level option it is just 65 Euro per month, and the highest level pre-built unmanaged package is 129 Euro per month. Custom hosting is, of course, varied based on the hardware you select.
While they do offer some managed hosting options, their real focus is on the unmanaged solutions. They do a good job at providing this so if you’re looking for a high quality unmanaged hosting solution for your offshore needs, this company is an excellent option to consider. If you need anything else, there are other companies to meet your needs. This really is a fairly easy hosting company to consider.
