Wow! I am impressed. Their communication is detailed, but concise. Their support is phenomenal!

I chose Glowhost because they offered Shoutcast and web hosting in one package. Directly after ordering, I noted that my entire control panel was in Chinese. I then had to work with support for hours before my site could be publis...Read Morehed, and was asked to scan and send copies of government issued identification. My Shoutcast server went down on the second day, requiring me to contact support a second time. My streaming specifications were also not as advertised, which I had to contact support to resolve. When it came to building my website, I would have liked to have seen more tools to create a professional looking site. Ultimately, I decided to find a more trustworthy host that could provide better tools to actually build my website. When I tried to invoke Glowhost's Money Back Satisfaction Guarantee, I was told that I'd be charged for my domain name that was originally offered for free, and that the charge would come out of my hosting refund. I was sent links to terms and conditions that differed from what I'd already read. After mentioning my intentions of sharing my experiences, I was then told that they could offer me the full refund as an "exception." I replied that I had no intention of withholding details of my experience, and the offer was revoked. In short, Glowhost was not for me. I felt misled by the Satisfaction Guarantee and was dissatisfied in the amount of issues that arose within my first week alone. For anyone looking for web hosting services, Glowhost has timely technical support but was far from pain free for me and abides by the same fine print any cheaper, more popular, professional, and easier to use host does as well.Less

Certain orders ma...Read Morey be red flagged by our system in order to prevent fraud. Those accounts that meet specific criteria may be asked to produce additional information including identification to ensure we are not charging a stolen credit card or hacked PayPal account, for example. Accounts that complete the one-time verification process are whielisted in our system so that those checks do not need to be performed in the future, and all future orders are processed automatically and instantaneously. We do this to keep our network at the highest quality possible because by performing these important checks, we prevent fraudsters from using our systems, and it ensures our networks are not home to scammers, carders, spammers and other bad people. This is a good thing for people who run professional businesses on our network and is one of the many reasons we're known for having reliable servers.

Our control panels are multi-lingual and by default display English when the account is generated. If there was another language set then it could only have been set by the account owner once they login and adjust settings. I hate to contradict your complaint, however, what you describe is factually impossible on our systems. The account owner is the only one that can set the language once they are logged in.

I do confirm that your Shoutcast radio was down during an unscheduled update by the Shoutcast service. This was resolved promptly once you alerted us to your specific issue, and I can personally apologize for that. We've worked with the software vendor to make sure it does not happen again in the future. Again please accept my apologies for the incident. It was a bad welcome to you and not a normal thing for the Shoutcast servers to experience.

Regarding the charge for your domain name, our policy has not changed in almost 15 years. All third party products, e.g. products that you purchase from other providers like an SSL certificate, domain name, or software is non-refundable. I can not only assure you that the statement you made about "terms and conditions that differed from what I'd already read" is either an embellishment of the truth, or a mistake, but I think we both know what it is, and it burns me up.

Readers can verify this for themselves by using the internet archive service (https://archive.org/web/) and comparing our Terms of Service now, and in the past and during your time with GlowHost which was July 24, 2016 to August 8th, 2016.

You will see their snapshot of our Terms Of Service (the contract you agree to when you order hosting) located at https://glowhost.com/tos . Section 9.4 which deals with domain names has only changed one time since 2012 and the changes was actually a reduction in the cost of the domain in the customer's favor! 2012 is the first time the archive added that page to the repository, thus the oldest date I can prove, and readers can verify, but I can assure you it is much older than that.

It's not often I've had to call BS on a review, in fact, this is the only one I've had to in almost 10 years of the 15 we've been in operation. We certainly understand and welcome leaving a negative review when it is legit, but when there are egregious misrepresentations which can be verified disproven like your claims, we've got no choice other than to protect our brand which is known for operating well above board which is a rarity in the web hosting industry. Changing the entire service agreement which affects all of our valued clients, to cheat one customer in order to make a measly $14 bucks is a ridiculous claim!

I am saddened to see that because you failed to read your contract, or the advertised offer on the main website itself, or the FAQ, or even just simply asked our live support, phone support or email support how the offer works, that it has promulgated into a bogus review formulated out of spite because you did not receive the refund that you wanted and feel entitled to. I can assure you if the registrar gave us refunds, you'd get one and the policy would change for everyone.

When people leave less than truthful negative reviews it can affect people's jobs because without new signups, a company's growth can slow down which can mean loss of jobs or no more hiring of new staff as a growing company. I'm not willing to see that happen on even one hopped-up review without a fight. Our staff are too important and work too hard for people like yourself to spread a bunch of bologna across the Internet. They've got families to feed, and I'm happy to defend them, and I'm happy to defend our brand.

I am with Glowhost for many many years, I am with them because they will respond to tickets within 15 minutes anytime of the day. And these are senior tech responses, no check the FAQ responses. Dont know how they manage this fina...Read Morencially, but they do it.
I cant remember any network outage for the past 3 years and I have them monitored by alertra 24-7.
Another important feature is that they will take care of any security upgrades etc.
So if you are looking for a REAL managed dedicated server, I dont know where to go elsewhere, and I have tried many of them.

A few years ago I tried their shared hosting, which was a little slow at that time, but it is very well possible that this has improved. I am sure that if I would have complaint about it, they would have fixed it.

Setup had been fast after I paid via paypal. Their tech support is quite professional and they are always online - I like this very much as I am not an expert at all. Speed connection is fast - this is what I like best of all.

Good company with a variety of hosting options

GlowHost has been in business since 2002, and they remain a private company to this day.  They are based out of Florida, but their data center is actually in Atlanta, Georgia.  The company offers entry level shared hosting as well as more advanced dedicated servers and cloud options.  Oddly, they don’t offer VPS packages at all.

They really promote their ‘green hosting’ activities where they put a lot of work into minimizing the environmental impact that they have.  Things like solar power, paperless billing and other things are some of the perks they discuss.

Uptime & Reliability

Very reliable hosting services

The company operates out of a high end data center in Atlanta.  It has all the normal redundancies built in so it is very unlikely that you’ll experience any type of issue there.  They have their 99.9% uptime guarantee, which is standard for the industry.  They do offer credits on the bills for any time you go under that level in a day or in a month.

In addition, they have great technical support with access to replacement parts that are available for any type of hardware outage that affects your services.

Features

Good features backed up with guarantees

The company has a variety of great features to offer.  Most anything that you’ll want to use is available through their normal packages.  The entry level shared hosting is surprisingly good, and comes at a fair price that won’t be a turn off to many people.  When you move up to the dedicated hosting options you’ll see that there are a ton of different packages to choose from.  Each package has a different set of hardware specifications.  While this is nice in one way, it can also be confusing to those who don’t know exactly what they want.

They have a satisfaction guarantee that comes with a 60-day money back option, which is quite nice.  They also have overall, and monthly uptime guarantees

Good support with fast response times

The support provided by this company has a good reputation.  From all the other reviews from current and former customers, I found almost nobody mentioning anything bad about their technical support services.

You can contact them through their online ticketing system, or email, or you can give them a call.  Whatever you need, they are happy to help and provide you with excellent service.

Pricing

Pricing in line with industry averages

The pricing for all the hosting options with this company seem to be right in line with industry averages.  The shared hosting packages are easy to understand, so those looking for this entry level option shouldn’t see anything surprising when it comes to the price.

The dedicated servers, however, can be something else.  They have a lot of options to choose from, so finding the package that is the right price and has the best hardware can be difficult.  Even those who are well versed in this type of thing may have some trouble finding where the best deal actually is.
