Easthost is primarily a cloud hosting provider, though they do have some shared hosting options as well. Even their shared options are technically set up similar to a cloud, but they list it as shared anyway. The company has a limited number of hosting packages, but you can configure them how you want them so that gives you the added flexibility that you might need.
In addition to the hosting services, they also offer web development. This would be a good option for businesses that are looking to get a site made for them and they don't want to mess with it themselves. They also offer email hosting if you need that.
Uptime & Reliability
Good Quality Hosting
This company uses all high quality hardware to help avoid any potential downtime. In addition, they work hard to ensure your site has updated software and other features to avoid problems in that area. Overall, they do a very good job at keeping sites up and running. While I didn't see many people writing anything about their experience with this company, nobody was complaining about downtime, so that is a good sign. They also have a 99.9% uptime guarantee for added confidence.
Flexible Hosting Features
Looking at their cloud servers you can choose from a number of different features based on your preference. Most importnatly, you can select from more operating systems than most hosting providers offer. THey have FreeBSD, SuSE, CentOS, Debian, Ubuntu, Windows and Fedora available to choose from. Their cloud servers are sold based on the number of CPUs you need, the amount of RAM and the amount of disk space.
You can add additional CPUs when you need them and just pay a set amount extra each month. Same for an extra gig of RAM or a gig of disk space. This is a nice way to sell this type of thing since it gives the customer the ability to buy exactly what they need and save some money.
In addition to the cloud servers you can choose from three shared hosting options. They have 5, 10 or 20 gigs of disk space and limit you to 1, 2 or 3 domains per account. The control panel is Parallels, which is a nice option, but not the most popular. They also have the LiteSpeed setup for increased load speeds.
24/7 Tech Support
You'll get good quality tech support no matter which of the hosting options you choose. They are there 24/7 to help you with issues and can solve most problems right away. They don't have a blog or other self-help area of the site, which is disappointing because more and more hosting providers are offering that and it can be very helpful to the users.
You can choose from a number of different price points to ensure you are getting what you want, for the price you want it. When looking at their shared options, you can pay monthly, annually, every two years or every three years. The longer you pay in advance, the lower your overall price will be. Even paying monthly, however, the prices are quite reasonable.
When you look at the cloud hosting options, you will pay a set amount for each CPU you want, each gig of RAM you want and each gig of disk space. CPUs cost 17.07 Euro per month per CPU. RAM costs 12.81 per gig per month. Disk space is between .11 and 1.07 per gig per month depending on the specific type of hard drive you request.
While this can be a weird way of buying it, you will have more control over exactly what you need. This can save you money in many cases.
Nice Hosting with Plenty of Options
This hosting company does a good job at providing you with the options you need. You can then select exactly what you want based on the needs of your site. This is a great way to ensure you aren't paying more than you should. They also have a friendly sales and tech support team and a good reputation for quality. While they might not be great for people who aren't technical since it can be difficult to pick the right options, they are a good option for many.
