Some conflicting information on uptime

Dnsystem’s datacenter information should leave any customer resting easy in regards to reliability—they operate in 11 data centers across Europe.  Oddly, I did not see prominent banners proclaiming “x%” uptime for hosting solutions, but rather a modest bullet point guaranteeing 99.8% uptime;  the data center features list 100% uptime. Enterprise customers should be further encouraged as Dnsystem provides an environment certified by ISO 27001 and BR25999 rules which are global standards for business continuity systems.

Features

Plenty of nice features to choose from

One of the key statements that Dnsystem makes is that they focus on providing value, rather than absolute rock-bottom prices. While many companies are looking only to host customers who can support, design, and implement IT initiatives on their own, Dnsystem has realized that there are many, many opportunities to be had in helping customers with their web presence and infrastructure needs.

In addition to the usual hosting, domain, VPS and dedicated server systems, Dnsystem offers something that many companies need right on their home page—email “courier” forwarding service.  While web pages and infrastructure are key to any modern business, many end-users rely on their email more than any other single product to stay up to date and small changes can make a significant difference.

Another offering that isn’t often seen, probably since it isn’t strictly an IT service: “internet counseling on legal technicalities”.  This probably falls into the category of something you don’t think you’ll ever need, but once you need it you have to be able to start addressing issues immediately.

Search-engine marketing is also featured, a proven strategy for many both brick and mortar as well as online companies.  I’m sure this is online marketing approach is something many organizations delegate to their “social media expert” which is someone that just spends time online with many missed opportunities.

Support

Nice support with fast response times

Dnsystem offers something not often seen in regards to support: a 20 minute response time for email sent to their support account.  Additionally, there is an online ticketing app and phone support along with a FAQ page to assist customers.

Pricing

Mostly reasonable pricing

One feature that many customers will find attractive: Dnsystem does not require contracts or any kind of long-term commitment.

The base package for VPS is €26.95 ($30.18USD) monthly, with no discount listed for pre-paid accounts.  This rate includes 60 GB of disk space, 1 GB memory and 1 TB of data transfer.  The top-rated package lists at €56.38 ($63.13USD) per month and increases capability to 120 GB of disk space, 4 GB memory and 4 GB of data transfer.

Web hosting packages start as low as €7.00 ($7.34USD) per month on the Linux platform and include 2 GB disk space, 10 subdomains, 500 email accounts, FTP services and a daily backup.  Increased capability increases modestly, with €30.00 ($33.59USD) monthly getting 18 GB of disk space, unlimited email, 90 domains but the top two packages include Perl & Ruby.

Spain’s 21% value-added tax (VAT) is added to all services.

Summary

Overall the company seems very reputable

DNsystem appears to a reputable company that avoids the conflicting claims like “absolutely the low prices anywhere” seen on so many provider’s sites—it takes real money to retain teams that can provide quality support and service.  Rather, the company touts excellent overall value with outstanding service.

With the international certifications, multiple operations centers, built-in management and development tools, and wide spectrum of support and consulting services Dnsystem appears to be an organization that can meet just about every customer’s needs.
