Let’s check it out.
Reliability
Not Much Information, but They Seem Reliable
It gets a bit sketchy when it comes to uptime and reliability as they don’t offer any kind of information which is a real shame. The best thing they can provide is a server status section of the site which you need to be logged into, to view.
From general online reviews you get the impression that uptime is pretty good, with plenty of ‘stable’, ‘good’ and ‘solid’ words being thrown around.
Features
All The Features You Need but Lacking Depth
Each plan offers a different feature level, the starter pack comes with 800MB of disk space which is low compared to other hosting company starter plans, and the developer plan reaches 2.5GB. FTP accounts aren’t unlimited even on the higher plan which offers 15, which shows that Da Web Host is more for small businesses than anything else.
Unlimited sub-domains run across all hosting plans and each plan has MYSQL databases as well. Optional upgrades and extras are also available, from dedicated IP’s at $3 per month to extra data transfer.
Support
Basic Support but No Human Interaction
The Da Web Host team have an entire section of the site dedicated to the support that is on offer and at first glance it does look impressive, but after you browse through all the image icons that lead to different section you will quickly realize that options are missing. You won’t be able to find a direct email or telephone number, and live chat is non-existence.
You will be able to access a ticket system, knowledge-base, a library of downloads, and pre-sales enquiries.
- 24/7 support
- Knowledge Base
- Ticket System
- No live chat
- No telephone number
- No email
- No support team location mentioned
Pricing
Easy Pricing Structure – 3 Plans
The pricing structure is simple because there are only 3 plans that are offered by Da Web Host. You have the starter plan that comes in at $4.99 per month which is about an average price for an entry level plan, rising up to $6.99 for the Basic plan, and the third plan is $9.99, which is a developer plan.
You can save money on each plan by taking out a longer service plan, from 3 months up to a maximum of 24 months.
User-Friendly
Basic Site Layout, But Slightly Boring
There are good points and bad points to usability of Da Web Host. The site itself is basic in colour and design; dare I say a tad boring? But it’s much better than sites that offer way too much information and plans, which end up confusing you.
The feel of the site is good and you can get to where you need to be within a few clicks, it’s crystal clear and easy to navigate.
They claim to offer a control panel but don’t actually state what you will be getting unless you dig deeper into the site and find CPanel listed towards the bottom of the pricing plans.
Summary
Good Pricing for Small Business Setups and Starters
There are good and bad points with Da Web Host, they certainly offer an easy to use site and help you purchase web hosting with just a few clicks. Prices are generally very good across all 3 plans that they offer, with decent features and CPanel to make your life easier.
The only downside is that the support could be more hands-on, and there isn’t much detail about system uptime.
Other than that, this a great hosting solution for small companies.
