He followed thru with the correct departments and got the job done. I had experience with employees hanging up on me, telling me they didn't give that type of refund, and shutting down the communication on line. Please give Josh a raise-he makes up for the employees that are just at work to collect their pay checks, and don't plan on really helping the public..Thanks JoshLess

CenturyLink has been the service provider for our company for a while. Our main phone line has gone down numerous times and it takes 2-3 days for the issue to be resolved every time. This is unacceptable for a business phone line....Read More We do have 4 total lines but when the primary line goes down no one can call in to us unless they know the number of the secondary lines. It is also very hard to speak to a human. I even have a supervisor's phone number but all calls go to his voice mail. Stay away from this company if you can.Less

After Hurricane Harvey I was without service for just over two months. It took nearly three months to get the billing credit issued and billing back to normal. I am writing this today as I have been without service now for three days and I am still waiting on Customer Service to call me back or to have the service restored. I think the billing department should run service, because billing come on time every time, while service at best is hit and miss.Less

I recently tried to schedule an installation of Centurylink's internet service in my home. I had originally sc...Read Moreheduled the installation for a Wednesday, but promptly discovered that the Wednesday was not open. I thought it might not be too hard to fix the problem because the representative I'd been speaking to promised that he would send me an email with my customer number, and I could simply reply to that. I never received the email he promised, and thus did not have my customer number. So, I called Centurylink to get the installation date moved, it took forever to get a hold of a human being (their electronic system didn't have options to accommodate my particular problem), spoke with a representative, who then transferred me to a different representative, who then said that he had moved the appointment to Friday for me. Two days later, I received a call from Centurylink confirming with me that the appointment was moved. On the Wednesday in question, I received a call from someone working for Centurylink saying that he was ready to perform the install and was trying to get a hold of me. I cancelled the so-called "service," because I have no intention of paying $60 per month for the torture of having to deal with such utter incompetence and poor customer-service.

Worse yet, I had previously been a Centurylink customer once before (you'd think I would have learned my lesson). During my first time with Centurylink, they told me the monthly price was going to be one thing, then started progressively sending me larger and larger bills each month with no explanation for why they were so high. When I called customer service and managed to get through to someone they fixed it for me and promised that it would never happen again. It happened again. And again. I might not have cared much about the billing problems if it weren't for the fact that customer service was so impossible to get a hold of. I think this charlatan company banks on that, knowing that they can charge their customers extra and up to a certain point the customers would rather just pay the extra money rather than have to deal with Centurylink "customer service."

Bah! They should pay US for what we go through to deal with their customer service. I hope this company either goes through a massive overhaul soon or simply goes under like it should. It is rotten, and there aren't enough hateful words in the English language to express how low my esteem for this company really is. There are only two ways I would EVER sign on with Centurylink again: 1. If I was offered a MASSIVE discount to make up for their poor service, or 2. If they underwent the affore-mentioned overhaul and fixed the issues with their customer service.

The reliability really can't get much better than this.  CenturyLink is a multi-billion dollar company that specializes in data communications work.  With that in mind, you'll be on their network and in their data centers.  Of course, this means you'll be getting the fast and reliable services that they are well known for.

Customized Features

CenturyLink doesn't have pre-defined packages like most other hosting providers.  Instead, you will work directly with an account rep to ensure you are getting the exact services you need.  This is essential for anyone who needs a high end hosting experience like is being offered.  Of course, it can be a hassle to negotiate each feature that you need, but once done you will be left with a great service.

For most people, however, this is not going to be the right option.  If you're looking for shared hosting or VPS options, for example, they can't help you.  The features offered are tailored specifically for larger corporations so if you're just running a simple site, this is not the right solution for you.

Not surprisingly, you'll get good support from CenturyLink.  In fact, they can handle all the hardware and data center work that needs to be done.  You'll be responsible for the actual content of your site, but when it comes to supporting the actual hosting, they do a great job.

You'll get a price based on the services you need. They don't have set prices for packages or anything like that.  For large corporations, the prices will be negotiated at the time you sign up and then you'll pay for them from there.  This is obviously not how most hosting companies work so if you don't want to deal with this type of hassle, you'll have to find another option.  Most large companies that would use this hosting solution, however, are very familiar with this type of thing.

If you're looking for hosting for a very large corporation, this might be the right solution.  If you're just looking for traditional hosting options, this is definately not the right choice for you.  One nice thing about CenturyLink is there is really no middle ground.  Either they are a great option or they are way out of your range.
