Basic hosting based in Peru
Andean.me is a hosting company based out of Peru. They offer basic packages as they attempt to take off the hosting industry in a country not known for it. Because they are still small, there are quite a few restrictions they have to their hosting plans and their website in general. There is no about or terms of conditions listed so it makes it really difficult to judge them.
Uptime & Reliability
Limited information available
I haven't been able to find any reviews of them at all, and their country and small size, as well as important missing features of the website, makes it extremely hard to figure out how reliable they are without actually using them. As I mentioned above, you must submit your payment to a physical bank in Peru, or post it to their account number, rather than another simple online payment form, making it a pain to get an active plan. They make no mention of any guarantees they might offer.
Very limited features
To say their hosting packages are limited would be an understatement. Even the most expensive plan contains only 512MB of disk space and 64GB of bandwidth. All plans run on Linux with cPanel installed (though what Linux OS is unclear). On the good side, most of them (3 of the 4) include unlimited e-mail accounts, databases, and subdomains, though it might be tough to do anything with them considering they only include 32-512mb of disk space.
Several support options available
They do have a live chat that's on during business hours (along with a local telephone line), but aside from that there is no mention of any support features, or anything at all really. They have a 2-question FAQ listing and a contact form on the home page, with no other knowledge base or contact method that I could find. If you're thinking about ordering, whether you're in Peru or elsewhere, I would recommend giving them a call just to make sure your plan can get set up in a speedy time, as well as to learn more about them.
Very affordable pricing options
While the amount of disk space and bandwidth is ridiculously low, the prices are pretty cheap as well. All plans can only be purchased with a yearly purchase, but they are as cheap as you can get. Assuming they are listed in American currency and not Peruvian (with a 3 to 1 exchange rate), the basic plan costs just $17 per year, while the standard plan is $25. The special plan runs for $35 per year, while the top plan (aka premium) costs $60 a year. The reason I assume the plans are in USD is because their domain names are all listed in USD, otherwise the plans would be a third of the listed price.
As cheap as you can get, but unfortunately their features and reliability are extremely questionable. Not only that, but the worst part of it all is that you can't pay with PayPal, a credit card, or any other online method. You have to submit the payment to their bank account, meaning there is no payment mediator or guarantee that usually comes with using a domestic bank. I would really only recommend using Andean if you're in Peru yourself, as it can be very risky otherwise.
Limited information available
Andean.me has a great website design but their server capacity is ridiculously low. They offer virtually no space, barely able to host even a WordPress website, though the package comes with Softalicous. On the flip side, you're not going to find hosting this cheaper anywhere else, but for a few dollars more you can get something much better, even in Peru there are better web hosts that I've seen. Without any guarantees, terms of condition, and only being able to pay through a bank.
- Very affordable prices
- Physical bank deposit required to pay
- Limitations on hosting
- No about us section or terms and conditions
- No guarantees or information about refunds
