Gen X Web Hosting has been on the market for 10 years now. What is the story behind the company? How did it all begin?
Back in 2011, we were building an eCommerce platform for which we had to choose and set up a hosting server and in doing so we found that it’s a tricky process. Thus, to make this process simple for people, we started Gen X Web Hosting.
We began our journey with the motive of making hosting simple and customer-centric.
The industry has changed a lot since 2011. What were the main challenges that you faced along the road?
The industry has moved its focus to Cloud-First era and we are totally focusing on that. In earlier days when we started and got our first customers, they were not well versed about how hosting works. We started educating them and made hosting simpler than before. The next hurdle that the clients always faced was a lack of good support. We took it as a challenge and simplified our support system with 24x7x365 chat, ticket, and also a local telephonic support system. It made us a “Reliable and affordable” hosting platform for customers.
By keeping these core values in mind, we are moving forward with an ever-growing determination to make this cloud era easier and simpler for our clients.
What are the main products and services that Gen X Web Hosting is offering?
We have a very diverse clientele from small businesses to large and Govt. entities. So, we offer a wide range of products from normal Shared Hosting to Cloud Products and Dedicated Servers.
Some of our products are Domain Registration, Shared Hosting, Reseller Hosting, Virtual Cloud Servers & Dedicated Servers. These services are offered mainly in 2 flavors Linux and Windows.
We were reading about Node X, a service that you are offering. Can you tell us a bit more about it?
Yes, It’s called Node X Virtual Cloud. It’s a cloud-based virtual server that offers guaranteed RAM & CPU to users which they can’t get in a shared environment. It comes with pre-made templates of CPU, RAM & disk. On top of that, we provide cPanel, Plesk & Direct Admin panels for better management of their instances.
There are a lot of customers who are in the e-commerce business. What kind of services they are most interested in hosting on their websites?
Often eCommerce website owners prefer dedicated RAM & CPU plans, so we offer them our flagship service of Node X Virtual Cloud. They usually prefer cPanel or Plesk along with these plans to manage their sites in a better way. These clients mainly focus on speed and security, so we have different location options as well including India, Germany, France, and United States. For security, we offer an add-on called “Imunify 360” that is best in the industry to safeguard servers from malware and other injections.
What is the best way to reach customers? Which markets are you focused on at the moment?
We acquire new customers from many channels like Google Ads, Facebook Ads, Email Marketing, and our Affiliate Program. Currently, our main focus is India; however, we are entering into European markets too.
There are new trends and technologies that are popping up in the hosting industry all the time. How Gen X Web Hosting is tracking the latest trends? Are you planning to introduce some new features in near future?
We are actively monitoring the industry and participating in industry-related events. We also have an active discussion forum to discuss new technologies and how they are going to impact us. We will soon be introducing Lite Speed-based managed WordPress hosting service.
What is the most important thing that one hosting company needs to have in order to be successful?
In order to be successful, a company should focus on its customers and make sure to solve their problems uniquely. A customer-centric company can stand against all odds.
Where do you see your company in the next 10 years?
With our vision to make “Hosting technologies simple and reliable” we are aiming to have our own market share in the Global Index of the industry in the next 10 years.

Focusing on simplicity, making products that are innovative and with a customer-centric approach, we can sail through the uncertainty caused by this global pandemic. We all are working remotely yet we are maintaining the same quality and improving it day by day. We need to focus on our team’s mental wellness too in these testing times.
